  • Okay, I'm not going to argue as I don't know them personally and what I have picked up is second hand gossip.

But i believe it anyway! :-)
  • Born In The USA. It's not a celebration
  • Born In The USA. It's not a celebration

I've heard that too (on here a bit earlier for starters) and I believe it, but it's hard to shake when the guy keeps yelling 'BORN IN THE USA' over and over again.

Bloody boring song too! Like fingernails dragging up and down a blackboard.

  • Mr X is Eamonn de Valera.

    (Made up) FACT
  • I just checked song facts, and it did'nt really deny or agree.

    Happens all the time
Its going to happen - happen - till your change your mind
Its going to happen - happen - happens all the time
Its going to happen - happen - till your change your mind

    Best story I ever heard
The truth about fat Mr X and the young girl
See how far he'll let you go
Before he persuades you when you're walking home

    Happens all the time ...

    Watching your friends passing by
Going to sleep without blinking a blue eye
Too slow to notice what's wrong
Two faced to you when you're taking them on

    Happens all the time ...

    Everything goes when you're dead
Everything empties from what was in your head
    No point in waiting today
Stupid revenge is what's making you stay

Its going to happen - happen - till your change your mind

    Nothing about the IRA
It is according to this. Although, I have to say I can't fathom it.

  • I remember Feargal Sharkey saying teenage kicks wasn't about fulfilling lustful desires with a girl but relieving youthful frustration by other means. Originally the lyrics went "I wanna hold IT, wanna hold IT tight, get teenage kicks right through the night". So, yet another song about Jodrell Bank

Blimey always assumed that song celebrated youngsters enjoying karate lessons...

  • Conversely, Why Does It Hurt When I Pee?, (Zappa) is exactly what it seems.

XTC's Pink Thing is deliberately ambiguous, as it could be Andy Partridge talking about his baby son, or well you can probably guess.

    Anytime you rise, I'm here,
And I'm crazy for you pink thing.
You make me want to laugh,
You make me want to cry,
When I stroke your head I feel a hundred heartbeats high,
    Pink thing.

I want to take you out and show you round the world,
    Pink thing it'll be OK.
If I could only wake you from your slumber curled,
Pink thing what would straight folks say?

That man isn't fit to enter heaven.
    That man is a sinner,
    Ever burning in disgrace.
Pink thing, spit in my face,
    I'd love you for it.

    Anytime you call, I'll fall,
Into madness for you pink thing.
You make me want to live.
You make me want to die.
And when I stroke your head I feel a hundred heartbeats high,
    Pink thing.

I want to take you out and show you to the girls,
Pink thing they're a whole new tribe.
If you could only see the way the way the gingham swirls,
Pink thing it's a whole new vibe.

That man isn't fit to be a father.
    That man is a sinner,
'Fore they cast me down to die,
Pink thing, spit in my eye,
    I'd love you for it.
Yes, I'd love you for it.

    Anytime you rise, I'm here,
And I'm crazy for you pink thing.
You make me want to laugh,
You make me want to cry,
When I stroke your head I feel a hundred heartbeats high,
    Pink thing.
    Hundred heartbeats high,
    Pink thing.
    Hundred heartbeats high.

    I want to introduce you,
Take you to the brink thing.
    I want to introduce you,
Tell me what you think thing. I want to introduce you,
    Make that missing link thing.
Don't you think it's time you met some female pink thing?

You make me want to laugh,
You make me want to cry,
So why is it I'm happy when there's tears down in your eye?

    Little pink thing.
  • There seem to be a lot of songs about heroin!

    So on that basis;
Cocaine by Eric Clapton - it's really about heroin

No, it's actually about the similarities between Coco the clown and Michael Caine

    There she goes
    There she goes again
    Racing through' my brain
    And I just can't contain
    This feelin' that remains

    There she goes
    There she goes again
    Pulsing through' my vein

    And I just can't contain
    This feelin' that remains

There she goes, there she goes again
She calls my name, pulls my train
No-one else could heal my pain

    But I just can't contain
    This feelin' that remains

    There she goes
    There she goes again
    Chasing down my lane

    And I just can't contain
    This feelin' that remains

So it was about a Stone Roses gig.

I saw them at Finsbury a few years ago and there were still lots of dodgy geezers, selling pills and legal highs.

I thought it was about recreational drugs, but I understand its about Richard Ashcrofts mother who had cancer.

My mum thought it was 'The Trucks Don't Work'.
    Totally different song again.

    Is it actually about wanking?
