Let's hope that story in The Telegraph is all a bit of something and nothing. In reality, if there is any Premiership club that isn't keeping tabs on every England U19 player, then someone is falling down on the job.
£10M + add ons. He is absolute quality. Look at some of the Champ players who have gone for that amount, he is worth every penny. Irrelevant anyway as it would go to Stapix.

And that's the thing, finally we have a genuinely potentially brilliant player on our hands with a decent length of contract left and it might not be Charlton per se who am benefit from the eventual sale.

We are losing £5-6m a year and that includes £2m of player sales and £1-2m of amortisation on player acquisition. Any big sales simply make a dent in the losses. Due to Gomez and four other players we are now potentially a break-even club. Yes, under new ownership we now have five players who might each fetch a fee in excess of £3m.
The benefit to Staprix is they don't have to pump in £10m + a season to cover losses and player acquisition if they decide to sell one or two this summer.
Obviously selling players can weaken the squad unless the replacements are good enough.
Being owned by Staprix means two things. CAFC can hold out for serious offers. And it can construct a plausible vision to the best players to stay put and help us improve. And that goes for new signings too. Of the back of a really poor season someone convinced Gudmundsson and Vetokele to sign last summer. What can they do now we have a decent pitch and a top half club?
Whatever happens we will know the answer by August and have a much more accurate picture of Staprix intentions for our club.

“He needs to get better and better."
I bet that opinion will change quickly enough if we are offered upwards of 3mil
Add to that the crazy hike in PL TV money and £5m is almost nothing for most of those top clubs that should be of interest to Joe.
