Think D/L has done NZ a favour once again.

5.7 an over to win before the rain. 7.38 an over to win after. Absolute nonsense. Really need to dump this calculation.

Dunno, if you think its essentially a 20/20 game with 6 extra overs, then you make sure those extra 6 overs pay. Also, England are packed with big-hitters all the way down to no 9 , so , not too unhappy about this.

Also, should be a wet outfield which wont help the bowlers.

With roughly half the number of overs to get them - so you would expect it to be tougher.

Michael Holding makes a very good point..
"if the bowlers are restricted. then maybe the batsmen should be too"

are think they are...they were planning on less than 6 an over, now they have to go at almost 7.5 an over.

    D/L method is a joke

Was trying to read up on how D/L is calculated and came across this, thought it was really interesting.

It'd be fantastic if it could be extended to other stages of an innings (not just 30 overs), eventually covering all possibilities.

As it is, had England's innings chase been 30 overs long, their target would've been one of the following:

    114-0
    134-1
    149-2
    164-3
    174-4
    184-5
    204-6
    219-7
    254-8
    279-9
(target increases with each wicket lost)

Morgan out for 0 queue Riviera Boycott.....
  • I know the target is extremely unfair but England's batsman have played some really stupid shots. They have 26 overs to get these runs, not 10!

Well, people talk about Englands new batting approach - but this has been one of the most abject batting displays i've seen.

I'm sorry, but Jason Roy has to go - he is just a walking wicket.

I think i've said this before, but never seen a batsman hit the fielder so much as Bairstow.
