A Day in The Charlton Life

edited April 2007 in General Charlton
Woke up, fell out of bed,
dragged a comb across my head,
found my way downstairs and packed my flask,
and looking up I noticed I was late.

Found my scarf and grabbed my hat,
made the coach in seconds flat,
found my way inside and had a smoke,
somebody spoke and I went into a dream.

Ah ah ah...

I read the news today, oh boy,
Six thousand fans in Blackburn, Lancashire.
And though some fans would rather stand
they had to seat them all,
now they know how many flasks it takes to fill the Albert Hall.

I'd love to win the game......

(with a little help from Messers Lennon & McCartney)

Except when singing Give Peace a Chance (or was it All You Need Is Love) on a world telecast. Also remember that Val Doonican made a whole career out of signing sitting down on his rocking chair!!
  • exactly. Most football fans are rock and roll, Charlton are more Val Doonican.

Lets All Have a Disco some fans sing, we'll you don't have a disco sitting down. Noticed the Scousers were making a cracking noise last night (good link there from the Beatles :-) ), and then you notice the whole away section is standing.

Yes and think of the cracking jumpers we could all wear to match our blankets. ;-)
  • "It was forty years ago" this week that Sgt Pepper was released.

I can't believe it's 40 years. I've got a limited edition LP of it on yellow vinyl. It's probably worth a bob or two.
