Might just be me but I don't see the rush to give Johnson, Eagles and Diarra longer contracts. I'd rather see how they do in the remaining games first.
I'd like to see the 3 of them given longer contracts immediately. First and foremost because they wouldn't command a transfer fee. Secondly because it would stop any other interested parties nabbing them from under our nose.
The 3 of them, make the squad stronger and bring a wealth of experience as well.
The scouting team did really well to pick these 3 up when we were on the verge of self destructing.
Katrien said at Bromley that the three players mention had started well but she/Roland wanted to judge them over the rest of the season, all 3 are stacked with experience and can only help the younger members of the squad which we are seeing signs of already. It was a risk signing them because of the lack of 1st team football over the last year but they all seem hungry to play.
Tremendous swearing by RJ, completely out performed the crowd and home effort by Clark. With lino abuse like that surely a long term oath of allegiance can't be far off. Assist for JG goal to the keeper who clearly had 0-3 on his coupon. Took him til the restart to get across his goal he was so far over. Churchinho goal and oh so nearly a glancing finish from Pointyhead. Would of been a legendary night if that had gone in. Fantastic shapes in the air from Captain France, balletic really, definitely deserved a better audience than last Xmas's leftover tangerines.
Are you serious about the 'assist' from the keeper re JBG's goal? I've just watched it on Sky TV and he looked pretty central to me, if anything he was farther to his left which is where JBG put it. I may be being petty but it was a class free kick, nothing the keeper could do and I think your comments about it are totally unfounded, give credit where credit is due...
Been up all night worrying about it. Re read my words over and over. I can see where my angst ridden prose would have started you agonising over whether JG was getting slated. Man he must be distraught. Can I take this opportunity to apologise to any members of the CL community that have suffered as a result of my irresponsible actions. Can I also apologise to the people of Iceland for the Cod War and for the fag packet my Uncle Ron dropped whilst on sentry duty in 1945 just outside Rekyavik. If you have been affected by the content of my messages and you wish to discuss any of the issues raised in my post please phone our helpline on 0207 7232 1222. Zampa the Lion will be pleased to take your call and tell you a real sob story that should make you feel better. x
Just seen the very brief highlights .. Watt's terrific control, hold up and pass for the first goal .. Church took his well and a great f/kick for number 3 .. Poor old Blackpool's defence looked shambolic though ..

Yes, great work from TWWW in the build up to the first and a very sharp turn a shoot from Church for his goal and then pinpoint accuracy for the free-kick.
We are consistently scoring good goals all of a sudden. Such a shame we didn't pick up 2 or three more wins somewhere across the season as we look like we could beat anyone on our day right now and we'd be in with a real chance of sneaking up through the play-offs.
Back home around 3.30 this afternoon after a really good trip to the Pleasure Beach which is now the nickname for Bloomfield Road. Sadly, very little pleasure for the fans who turn up week after week to witness the result of Lord Oyston's mismanagement of their Club. Wish them well in Division One but can't see much changing if the ownership doesn't....
We witnessed a game of 75% head tennis/25% on the bumpy deck which must have totally knackered our lads. My neck's in a brace today, suffering from the stresses and strains of constant star gazing :-)
Atrocious pitch ( and we're the experts there ! ) , a feisty bunch of Tangerines( until the Eagle landed our first) and a ref who was determined to give the underdogs a long leash - the boys dealt with everything thrown at them, each & every one deserving of a stick of rock with "Charlton" all the way through. Our new "Special One" certainly knows what he's about. Rotating players, but not to the point of giddiness, he seems to have the knack of producing our best team to counter both the opposition's strengths and also the conditions. Another consummate performance in the end and our favourite scoreline. What more could the travelling faithful ask ?
Well, the camaraderie of the 300 or so was more apparent than usual with a good number staying in the Travelodge opposite the ground. So, plenty of wine flowed both before and after the match with few unsteady steps required between bar and padded seat in the Stand...luckily ! Meeting up with old friends and making new ones ensured that this was an evening to remember for reasons apart from the actual football. If only other Clubs had such reasonable accommodation in such close proximity to their ground, we could make this a season long habit. £32 for a big double room with a pristine en suite - what's not to like ?
So, another successful leg of this rollercoaster season is crossed off the list and although the motorway lag is starting to kick in, it's clear that there's nothing that beats bringing home the points. From the tweets shown herein from the lads, it's clear they appreciate the support and I believe Guy will have encouraged their comments. He looked a very happy man when he came over to us after the final whistle and he has every right to be proud of what he and his team have achieved over the past 6 weeks or so. I'm looking forward to thanking him face to face at the POTY dinner on 3rd May - why don't you buy your tickets and join me ?
Nearly forgot ....
A special mention for a Lifer who introduced himself to me with the words " Are you Fanny ? You dissed me on CL !" and proceeded to tell Mr F how (un) lucky he is to have me....
Good to meet you, chippy and don't forget, it's my round next time.
After a few references to head tennis, I'm wondering how many headers Church and Watt actually won. Could someone who was there please enlighten me? Winning headers is not something I'd associate with either of them.
Has anyone other than Igor scored for us with a header this season?

?
40/30 to Church/Watt.
Seriously I would have no idea and this is coming from someone who was there last night.

I bet you're singing, "Luzon My Religion", by REM.

Onwards & upwards !
I can hear the dulcet tones of Benji predicting what will happen ?
3-0, we only win 3-0.
Buenas Noches Amigo.
