Farage, Corbyn & Cameron to be the new presenters.
    I'd tune in to that.

Top Gear audience 1.9mn, Antiques Roadshow 3.9mn. Enough said.

And do you have the figures for Top Gear vs Antiques Roadshow outside of the UK?

    I'd tune in to that.

Farage wouldn't want any foreign cars on, Corbyn would only need to test 2/3 seaters - enough to fit his front bench in.

Cameron could put to use his recent skills at bartering for a 2nd hand motor, which seemed to go a lot better than his skills at getting a deal out of the EU and then selling it on to the U.K!!

Corbyn would just insist that the Trabant is the best car ever created.

Also I'd imagine the people watching Antiques Roadshow are unlikely to be football fans as well whereas for people who watch Top Gear it is much more likely. The scheduling of this series has been awful.

There's too many Wayne Rooney's out there? More interested in Antique's than fast cars?!

David Dickinson is a very good presenter though.

I don't like him so didn't give it a try, was it really that bad?

    No.

There were people complaining at 20:02 when it had been on for 90 seconds. People made their minds up before it even started and many won't change it.

It's not as much fun as it was but it's nowhere near as bad as some have made out.

The press wanted Evans out from the start, even before the first transmission.

Yes. For those two episodes, it's zero and zero.

Feel a bit sorry for Evans. When he was just in a car talking about a car his enthusiasm and knowledge came through and he was actually alright, but in the studio he is just irritating, but I've always found him that way, even when I was 12 watching the Big Breakfast. It;s how he is so we all knew what he would be like, not really his fault he was a poor choice and he was always going to be the televisual equivalent of David Moyes at Man Utd.

Le Blanc has been a touch a wooden on the auto-cue but he's been good overall and Chris Harris has been surprisingly good too. They're kind of the Hammond and May replacements though and neither seem right to take over the Clarkson lead character role.

If they can find someone to play off those two better then they can still save the show. Ditch, or at least drastically shorten, the celebrity interview bits. Probably bring some of the more newsy, technical(ish) bits back from the Top Gear Extra show as well. A lot of the on location stuff has been decent, but its lacked the humour side of it that the other three brought - although they weren't always as natural on screen.

I enjoyed it. It was nice to watch that format without feeling bad about myself for watching three men I really don't like. The new format would improve in time, the two leads hadn't worked together before so that was essential. Real shame.

Le Blanc has been very good, I think over time he'll get more comfortable and his dead pan style would work very well with the excitable Harris and/or Reid. I've enjoyed the reviews much more this year and the way it's shot and edited is as beautiful as usual.

Yes, Evans to me came over best in the two pieces where he was driving old cars, his Corniche and the upgraded MGB, as he's an enthusiast rather than someone from a motoring journalist background

What I love is the 'your best car' section where a stream of piss poor bakers, luvvie actors flogging their latest show, (on a fee paid, allegedly non commercial channel - sod right off with your free advertising paid for by my license fee), washed up has-beens and z listers lord it over us working class types by laughing about their Aston Martin Grand Prickarge or some jolly jape about their favorite Ferarri. Thanks for the crumbs. I am grateful to bathe in your fortune.

Thought the last programme was ok, but whatever Evans does annoys me, unfortunately, with the possible exception of Billie Piper!

I thought Matt LeBlanc did a good job, Chris Harris was excellent but then he was on YouTube. Sabine was excellent and I thought it was a funny recurring theme her making people puke

It was so blatant as well, acknowledging that people were only coming on the show to plug something. Surely there must be some celebrities who'd go on just because they wanted to do the lap?

That's a good point - the researchers/ producers don't seem to realise that the show should have a level of respect that doesn't require the quid-pro-quo of normal chat shows.

Personally if they absolutely must have a celebrity on I'd rather it was like that. (Most of us) aren't stupid and we know that any time a celebrity appears on a chat show, entertainment show or even news programmes they are there to promote something. Imo it's worse when the presenters say something along the lines of "... has popped in to see us today" few minutes later "Oh and you have a new show/book/album out now don't you?".

Maybe Chris Evans was trying to be "post modern" by getting the plug out of the way first?

On the late night politics show This Week, the final guest is a celebrity, and usually they have something to plug, which is generally done right at the end, but sometimes they genuinely only go on because they want to talk about something they care about, which is quite refreshing

Anyone who chunders whilst being driven in a car, deserves not to be presenter of a car show.

I think this is the more likely reason that he's chucked it in. These allegations are potentially very serious.

I think there are three main reasons he won't be back:

He wasn't amazing and the Sun hates him (do Rebekah and Clarkson hang out at all, I can't recall)

He has too much on anyway that is more suited to his talents

    He's a cock.

    Show is AXED.

    Show won't be recommissioned.
