Supporting the team on the pitch and getting our voice heard against the directors.

Are both of these possible ?

I feel we do need to support many of our players particularly those coming up through the academy. We need to show them that Charlton is all about the supporters and a club worth playing for.

The question you pose is a good one, and I think a lot of fans are struggling with this.

In truth Charlton is not 'all about the supporters' as we are reliant on the ownership, his executive, and ways of working for the club's success and our feeling of wellbeing. Also how can we honestly say this set up in worth playing in? It's a fanatics perspective that says supporters are everything and the club is great to play for, and one that therefore isn't objective. While the executive is not doing its job to the best of their capabilities why should the fans keep their part of the bargain that we hope exists?

Furthermore i think different fans will resolve the issue in their own ways, without necessarily waiting for a public meeting or consensus. Hence the outbreaks of booing and the anti-RD songs will follow no doubt. HUddersfield at home will be really interesting in this respect with CP in town. The banner last night in the lower North was notable 'Made in Charlton, Destroyed in Belgium' - needs some work as hard to read from a distance, but again shows that momentum of unrest is gaining pace.
  • If there's no dialogue with the owner then where else do the people who pay their money make their voices heard? RD deliberately ignores us and Katrien writes snide articles for The Evening Standard telling us to lump it. The best discussion we've had over the current fiasco is a pissed fan yelling about Paul Jewell on a train back from Watford. I haven't been to The Valley in a little while but I can't blame the fans for booing. This is a mess.
