Sadly I can't see us getting anything from our next two home games although I think this one is the easier of the two. Knowing Charlton, we will get six points from both games making next weeks meeting seem less relative but somehow I doubt it.
It's hard to be optimistic. At the risk of stating the bloody obvious, a win now could be of crucial significance. It would end the run; it would give us a base to build on; it might suggest Luzon knows what he is doing; it might suggest the team are united and behind him; it might help to avert the poisonous undercurrent that is building up; it might give the fans some sort of hope. I wasn't at Boro, but I was sort of encouraged that we didn't disintegrate after the first goal went in. (Grasping at straws) I don't expect Luzon to be adventurous, so another game of pitifully few goal attempts from us. Hopefully we'll show some heart and spirit and look like we want to win. And hopefully we have practised defending set pieces I predict a narrow defeat. 0-1
Much improved performance leads to 2 - 1 win but all the focus is on how boring we were, that they "out-cornered" and "out-possessioned" us so making the three points and 16th place utterly meaningless.
Think weel nick a 1-0, Solly likely won't play 2 in 4 so weel need someone to step up. Henderson must be close to fully fit so hopefully he'll be back soon, with that said, Dmitrovic has been solid so I have no problem with him atm. If we get our marking on set pieces figured out then we will be fine. 1-0 Cousins
I can't see where the next win is coming from at the moment
I look at that midfield and think however we line up we've got nothing aside from JBG. Buyens, I'm not sure what he does anymore. Captain 'dark matter' Jackson, I'm reliably informed doing things on the pitch that we can't see. Cousins, working hard out on the left but offering very little threat. This in turn means we're getting nothing up to an already weak forward line.
Someone else referenced on another thread. We either go a goal up somehow and sit back until the inevitable equaliser, or go a goal down and simply have nothing.
Johnson to start maybe and us to keep a clean sheet. Who knows we may even nick a goal. 1-0 addicks.
If RJ starts, think it would be a good idea to sellotape up his gob, following his record number of "fecks" in this afternoon's U21 game.
Guess it shouldn't be a problem as long as he doesn't look in the ref's direction.....
Shouldn't be starting after playing for U21 yday, an unfit player who's just played y'day should not be playing at a much higher and more competitive level the next day. Plus CB isn't really the problem as the quality IS there, it's the rest of the team giving them too much pressure to keep clean sheets for us to get anything out of the game.
We'll lose, Norwich with a 2.5k crowd against a dwindling CAFC crowd, Luzon to be booed and players sulk off down the tunnel.
Norwich's manager is a clever guy, he will target our weak links and that includes our set piece defending, they will be absolutely bombarding our area during these.
