Reckon we should get at least 8 pages of conjecture out of this foundationless rumour. There'll be a lull in interest after 4 pages, but then someone will post a photo of a grey-haired man in a suit having lunch with his Oriental wife and it'll all kick off again.

    Is that Eddie Jordan?
  • Do you think we could convince Roland to do a swap with Varney and co. for Ebbsfleet?

His standard of network players might actually work at Ebbsfleet!! (sorry Mr Varney!!)

As for the Chinese businesswoman...@JessieAddick...have we ever asked you what you do for a living???

    Bob "The Cat" Bevan? ;-)
  • Perhaps Jessie could enlighten us about Zhang Xin. Did she use the Valley Express from West Sussex a couple of times?
  • This rumour has a funny smell all over it.
  • Ackers has turned up trumps at last?
  • Closer to wishful thinking rather than bearing any proximity to the truth.
  • We've never been part of a Chinese network FACT!

With Zheng Zhi as player-manager to lead us back to the promised land.

Can't be true, would leave no wriggle movement for his deadwood at SL or surplus managers.

This bit is true. Surely he'd want to move all his crap back to the network before he sold up. Unless they're contracted to the network and not Charlton. Which isn't implausible.
When I moved house, I boxed away the provisions of the food cupboard. There were some pretty nice things in there - teas, spices, gourmet hot chocolate. Once I emptied the cupboard I noticed there was an old packet of jelly cubes. It had been in there so long that the jelly had leaked out and congealed onto the wall behind and the shelf. Parts of it were black and rancid. Pretty sure at least some kind of animal had spent a night of passion there.

I left it there for the next tenant to deal with.

Lol... If I won the lottery I would consider investing in or even buying (saving) our club. Guess many of us would do the same.

Surprised you know about her! To be honest even I didn't know she once lived in the UK!
  • If there was ever going to be someone from China to take us over, this man is the one that I'd most like to see:

However, it's too late now and judging from the Atletico Madrid deal, I think we're probably a club too small for his ambitions. :(

Yep, I'd buy Charlton, kick out Roland, re-hire Chris Powell on an extortionate wage, keep Katrien on and then force her to work at Crossbars, blow all my money on expensive signings (who would flop), realise I was in over my head as Charlton slipped down the league, start crying about FFP being ineffective when I have to cut back on player expenditure, sack off Powell so I can blame him for our slide down the table, sell our best players for pennies to pay off my own over-ambitious mortgage and then sell up to the first dodgy dealer who offered me cash. I'd then do an interview claiming there were 'other factors' at work and implying the Football League is unfair, say Roland left me a poisoned legacy and then disappear off into the night.

    Ah, the dream.
