We'll win again, don't know where, don't know when but I know we'll win again some sunny day!

  • Things can only get better.
10 thousand Charlton fans singing at OT in '94, it was great. Lasted 90 secs after the restart.
  • Always look on the bright side of life
  • Before we go any further, is this a thread for songs to cheer us up for our current run, or to list the most obscure cheer up songs on the planet?

Mines; I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor.
  • You win again.
    Bee gees 1987
  • Ain't no stopping is now. Works for relegation or improvement.

And we played it every bloody week after that as we gradually slipped down the table. Still hate it as a result.
  • Of course we all know Roland is singing:

    "Ça plane pour moi"

This isn't a name the most obscure song you know task. ;-)
  • Wham! Bam! my cat Splash
lies on my bed with his tongue puffed out
    by drinking all my whisky.
As for me, not enough sleep, drained, persecuted,
I had to sleep in the gutter
    where I had a flash
    Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
    in four colours

    Allez-oop! One morning
a darling came to my home,
a cellophane puppet with Chinese hair,
    a plaster, a hangover,
drank my beer in a large rubber glass
    Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
like an Indian in his igloo

This works for me, this works for me
This works for me me me me me
    This work for me
    Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
    This works for me

Allez-oop! The chick***, what a gas!
    what a vibration!
to be sent on the door mat
    filed, ruined, drained, filled
You are the King of the divan!
she says to me in passing
    Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
I am the King of the divan

This works for me, this works for me
This works for me me me me me
    This workss for me
    Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
    This works for me

    Allez-oop! Don't mind, don't worry
    Don't affect me
    It’s not today
that the sky will fall on my head
    and I'll be without glue
    Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
    This life’s for me

Allez-oop! my chick has gone away,
flew away, finally had enough, to break
the sink, the bar, leaving me alone
    like a complete jerk
    Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
I've put my foot in it

This works for me, this works for me
This works for me me me me me
    This workss for me
    Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
    This works for me
This workss for me, this works for me
This works for me me me me me

Obscure?? The Carpets are one of, if not the, best bands of all time!

But impossible in football, unless we're talking 2 points out of 3 games, which is relegation form. :-)

  • You're all wrong & how soon you forget - last season.......

The Higher you build your barrier, the taller I become......

    Something inside so Strong!
  • I don't know about a song but how about
'Good Times' to be played (circa 1979) by Chic?
Just as we run out after the Red, Red Robin!
If you youngsters don't know it look it up on Utube.

Ça plane pour moi = That's it for me. Well, we can hope he is.

  • Great news! Found the new club anthem, never heard of it but it's clearly written for us, thank you Elton! http://www.eltonography.com/songs/just_like_belgium.html

We'll need to amend some of the lyrics, although "Streetwalkers sweet talk you out of your spare change" is clearly a direct reference to those tasty lasses that flog the matchday programmes these days. Also, "The few francs we saved bought some cheap souvenirs" is obviously talking about Christophe Lepoint and Roger Johnson, and most poignantly, "Our code of living meant little to others" - we all know that Katrien and Roland don't give a monkeys about our code of living.

    Just Like Belgium

    Music: Elton John
    Lyrics: Bernie Taupin

Remember Belgium and the Brussels Museum
Where we piled on the front steps like stray cavaliers
Our code of living meant little to others
The few francs we saved bought some cheap souvenirs
But the red lights where the catfights make it just like Belgium
See us face down on the floor of another cheap barroom
Streetwalkers sweet talk you out of your spare change
And your sweet madame makes it seem just like Belgium
Just like a hustler when they look attractive
It's nothing more than a slap on the back
The price tag of being just a little bit different
The first rule to learn is to keep your own distance
  • Money money money
    It's all about the money
  • The Carnival is Over.
  • What about that song that Adele sings? "Roland in the deep"
  • Things can only get better.

I was there that day, it was absolutely brilliant. Weren't we winning 1-0 as well?

"Things can only get better" never sounded so good.

It was 0-0 at h/t but the great Dane had been sent off so it felt like we were in the
    lead.

The 10 men of united showed their class in 2nd half.
