Well, the 1st round of the Prediction Cup threw up some surprises. While some used Bob-like tactics to try to eke out 1-0 wins (sorry, I should move on), others provided fine attacking games – none more so than No.1 in South London and North Lower Neil who played out a thrilling 6-4 home win.
Last season’s winner, cafc4life, fell at the first hurdle this year with a 4-1 loss away to MrOneLung, so there will be a new name engraved on the trophy this year. The biggest defeat of the round came to AFKABartram who proved that drinking on a Friday night before a big game doesn’t work – his 7-0 away to Lancashire Lad meant that he returned home down the M6 with more than a hangover.
Two of the current joint leaders of the league, T.C.E. and tommo also became big scalps for jakecafc and CRAZYCHAIR.
