Wilson - 2 I like to think about marks for players, and not make snap decisions on player performances. I have thought long and hard about what Lawrie did right yesterday. I haven't been able to think of a single thing, so I have given him the same mark as his shirt number. Enough said!
Gudmundsson - 5.5 Our most creative player, but needs to impose himself on the opposition more. Cast a forlorn figure sometimes. I felt sorry for him sometimes, as he was in acres of space in front of the East Stand in the 2nd half, only to see the ball launched into a mass of striped shirts. His body language at the end was truly awful.
Jackson - 5.5 Not as bad as some think, especially as he was carrying a knock for most of the 1st half. Still the leader on the pitch, but seems to find it harder to get his battered body around the pitch. Must be worried watching the performance of Cousins in his absence.
Cousins - 7 Gave our midfield a power and directness sadly lacking in the this poor run. Wholehearted and determined, gets forward well, and is probably the only midfielder who can win a header since the recall of Coquelin.
Tucudean - 5.5 Plowed a lone furrow, with little help in the 1st half. Maybe, just maybe, he would look better if he got anything like some service. I hope his injury is not too bad, as it would be bad if we were to be short another striker.
Vetokele - 6 Looks a shadow of the player who produced his early season performances. A poor first touch, and inability to bring others into the game. Even his lightning acceleration seems a thing of the past. However, battled on, and actually looked quite useful playing on the left. He looks short of confidence, but a goal might turn his season around.
Gomez - 6.5 This kid is amazing. 17, but plays like a season pro. Has pace, and played without fear. Not faultless (he must take some responsibility for the goal), but is probably the future of the club. The new Richard Rufus?
Watt - 6 A very promising cameo. Looks to have great ball control, and not frightened to take people on. Strong on the ball, too. Set up Solly for his shot. I didn't mind when he took on the keeper, as a bit of confidence/arrogance is good in a striker. And Igor probably would have missed. Also an edge to him that I like, shown by him pushing "the Beast" away in the closing minutes, when Bikey was arguing with the ref. How many of our places have looked willing to do that. Very promising.
Church - 5.5 Another wholehearted display, without looking in any way dangerous. Somebody has to do the dirty work, and Churchy, at least, does not shirk from the responsibility.
