    What a player he was!
  • I keep seeing tweets saying Franck Nouble has been released from Ipswich and several championship and league one teams are interest.

    He's tall, he's a striker.
I can't be the only one getting worried.

    Don't you dare Bob/Katrien/RD

A number of Championship sides are interested in Lierse S.K. striker Apostolos Vellios.

    Us?

Ex Everton (looked bloody terrible the couple of times I saw him play)

Sent on loan to Blackpool from March 2014 till the end of the season. Played 1 and a half games.

Can't get overly excited about this.

Only saw him play a couple of times for Everton but the first time I saw him he came on and scored a late winner with a brilliant header. He's certainly a big lad but I didn't see that much about him when he played. Could definitely bully Championship defences though

Vellios and Emmanuel-Thomas are beasts on FM14, if RD is using it as a scouting tool expect us to also try to sign Mackay-Steven from Dundee United

hmmm I'd actually recommend a few lads on my FIFA manager mode that I brought in. Helped me win the champions league. With Simon Church as my main striker I might add. Never underestimate FIFA or FM

Hmmm. He always was a bit moody, he'd be a right sulky sod if he had to come back to us in the champ. It's a no from me.

The reality of these games never ceases to amaze me

May have missed it but has Churchy actually joined Millwall yet?
  • He tried mate but he missed, rumour has it he couldn't make it all the way across the road,

We're desperate for a left-sided player and he would fit the bill nicely. Gets on the ball and tries to make things happen. It's a yes from me but wages must be a problem.

I've seen rumours Thomas was going to Millwall on loan.
I'd take him here but more because I don't want them to have him.

I'd take him back, we could do with another right footed left winger who can cut in all the time!

He wants a perm deal and Millwall want a loan.

He's out of contract in the summer so can see why he'd want a longer and permanent deal

  • I heard yesterday that Johnnie Jackson was on his way to join Chris Powell at Huddersfield.

Info came through a friend of a friend who knows someone at the club so this could well be a load of bull, I certainly hope so.

I've just seen Jackson with a flat cap on, walking a whippet, with a sack of coal over his shoulder, so it must be true.

Morrison has been thanked, it was on the OS.

"Once again, the club would like to place on record its thanks to Michael for his service to Charlton as a player and ambassador during his stay in south-east London."

Jackson has been great for us since he came to Charlton, the number of goals he has scored for us has been invaluable. If and when he leaves the Club, i shall be sorry. But Jackson this season has been a shadow of the player he was. Championship games are played at a high tempo and Jackson can't seem to keep up with it. He frequently arrives late for tackles and the way he used to arrive in the box to score has all but disappeared. Whether this is due to Peeters tactics or the fact he can't cover the ground he used to, i am not sure.

I wouldn't be happy losing Jackson. I personally would like him to play a more advanced role behind a striker (or strikers) as his shooting boots are still hot. If he did go i really hope they have a younger decent replacement coming in. Having said (just playing the options not saying i want him to go at all) if he were to go it would allow Cousins to move into the centre with Buyens where he belongs and we could then invest in proper Right and Left Sided Midfielders. Hope he doesn't go though.

As for Jerome Thomas coming back. I didn't mind him when he was with us but he was always one of those players for me who thought he was a lot better than he actually was. He would score an absolute screamer maybe 2 times a season but then act like he does it all the time. I don't mind a bit of cockiness/arrogance in a player but i never really thought his performances warranted that. Having said that in the Championship i think he would be useful.

Just like Bob Peeters, Jackson isn't going anywhere.

Don't get me wrong, on a good day he was great to watch, but I wonder how many good days he would have at a midtable Championship club that he thought he'd left behind when we got relegated from the prem. He was never a 'team first' player was he?

Wouldn't surprise me. I think it's been mentioned on here / Twitter that Powell has enquired about him. I reckon it would be too tempting for Duchatelet to sell him. I hope that he gets the send off he deserves if he does leave, unlike Morrison, who was allowed to leave via the back door with no thanks from the club. I'd also hope that we have a bloody good replacement lined up for Jacko. I don't buy into this nonsense that he can't last 90 minutes etc. He's already proved this season that he's still quite capable of popping up in the last minute to win us a game. I don't agree with Bob subbing him early very game and you can see why JJ has got the hump with him. Excellent player for us and the best leader we've had since Kinsella if you ask me. Along with Powell, he gave us our club back.
In my view one reason Johnnie's goals have dried up this season is that without a hold up player he does not have time to get forward and into the penalty area as often as he did when Kermorgant was playing.

Completely agree with that. You could probably apply to the whole team.

    Luckily Nouble isn't returning…
