I reproduce here a paragraph from the latest newsletter from Age Exchange, the estimable Blackheath-based charity:
"We are also grateful to Carl of Charlton Athletic Community Trust who has generously donated a Charlton shirt which has been signed by all the players. We are running a Silent Auction for this so, if you would like to bid for it, please reply to this email with your name and telephone number and the amount that you would like to bid. The deadline for submitting your bid is 5pm on Thursday 18 December. It would make a wonderful Christmas gift for a Charlton fan. All proceeds go to support Age Exchange."
