there has to be better keepers than etheridge out there? surely.
well he's probably only going to be back up to the new keeper until Hendo is fit and then the new keeper and Hendo will fight it out for number one and sub and Etheridge will be off at the end of the season. at least that's how I see it.

The 4th goal was a free header inside the six yard box. Does he ever come off his line? Good shot stopper on his line but a liability on crosses. Everyone in the league knows that now and will stick crosses and high balls into the box at every opportunity.
His kicking is also an accident waiting to happen.

Can't see him in the starting line-up again.
is that not the same for every keeper we have had
Come on Paulie, Ben Hamer's distribution was like chalk and cheese compared to Etheridge. He's (Etheridge) Sunday league at best and not that much better than the 'Clown' IMO.
He's has a weird career, when you consider that of his 2 appearances for Fulham, one was in the Europa League, so this is a guy with stacks of international appearances, who's also played in one of the main European competitions!

goalkeepers have odd careers. I'm sure there's one or two that have played under 50 games their entire career and yet stayed in the top two divisions of english football running around somewhere. I wonder if anyone's got any examples of something similar?

Steve Harper was a bit like that, until Given left although he still only managed 157 games for Newcastle in 20 years

I agree the example of Stuart Taylor is a good one . Even now he is a number 2 at Leeds . Etheridge never played for Fulham in a league match . He needs games and probably won't get them with us now.

The current Wet Spam goalkeeping coach M Margetson is a good example. He was understudy at Man City for ages..

For instance I think if you're 20-30 years old and can kick a football and were born in Gibraltar you would now be an international footballer.
