New music

Thought I'd start a thread regarding any new music people think is any good. So much of it is dross, but there is still tunes being made... Any genre, any artist, get it out.

Any Oasis fans should check out a new Australian band called DMA's. Singers voice is spookily similar to Liam's (specifically on Feels Like 37) and IMO they're making quite exciting music.

  • I can't stop playing The Wytches 'Annabel Dream Reader' at the moment. It is certainly a grower.

Not new but I went to see the Jesus and Mary Chain last night and 30 years after I first saw them, they still sound brilliant.

    My Baby

Dutch/NZ band doing soul/swamp/funk sort of thing. Retro but fresh sound
  • Mac Demarco - seeing him tonight. Not exactly new, but very much under the radar. He's got three albums, all of them excellent.

Stromae. Not new but don't think he's ever released a song in the UK. The Racine Carée album is good.

Avoid if you are expecting lyrics in English.

Ah fair play, thanks. Didn't realise he released that here. Think Papaoutai and Formidable are much better but they weren't released in UK.

Killed it at Brixton, some nob decided to let of a flare though.. which meant they went of for 5 minutes.. Still atleast it meant they played Not Nineteen Forever twice :>
  • I don't mind the courteeners, but I saw yesterday they're playing heaton park next year. Surely that's too big for them?

C Duncan - Architect. Cannot stop listening to this, won't be everyone's cup of tea but fully deserves his mercury prize nomination imo.

  • I have a playlist on Spotify that I add to all the time, so the stuff at the bottom end tends to mostly be newer discoveries mixed with some odd older bits. Mostly 2014 & 2015 . Indie, folk, acoustic, alternative, country, that sort of thing.
