  • such a small chance I may not even bother going. I can get £30 for my ticket, I'm on call-out, it's on telly and we'll just huff and puff for 25 minutes, Man Utd will hit us with the old one-two and it will be game over.
There again I might just miss our first ever Premier win against them?
  • you'll be surprised.... not necessarily by the football, but you'll be surprised.
  • I think we may be surprised...

Of course we have a chance.

Yes Man U were awesome yesterday but Fulham were very poor, much worse than our much maligned defence.

With Rooney and Scholes out (who were integral against Fulham) i think we could get a draw...

We need a bit of luck probably, but us lot need to play a part. Have we ever played them in a night game at home before?

Lets crank the noise up and see what happens
  • i certainly think we have a chance.

Scholes was awesome on Sunday, missing him and Rooney will be a big blow. I don't think their defence is exceptional, especially from set plays.

Crowd could play a big difference. Get behind the side, you never know what might happen.
  • blimey WSS, almost word for word !
  • ive said it since rooney n scholes wer sent off in pre season...this is our chance! look at the game against fulham...rooney scored 2 and assisted one one was an own goal...so thats 4 goals counted for already! ha ha well no smith this time who was instrumental...who else will partner saha up front? ronaldo or rossi?!?
  • to be honest, in despite what i've wrote, in my head i have already off the result so anything will be a bonus.

What i do want to see more than anything is a lack of fear. Whenever we have played the big teams in the past few years we've looked like we felt we had no right to be on the same pitch as them, in awe. I'm hoping this is one of the changes Dowie will bring. Result irrelevent, lets get right at em and making them work for it.
  • Good post Bart, i bit of bite and spine in the performance and i'll be happy, like you say, and i reiterate, lets make em work for the points.
  • The biggest thing is, no one will be supporting the side, they'll be more bothered about Ronaldo.

Worry about the team first, and him second.
  • what? like we did on saturday...

yeah....lets boo konch so he puts in some amazing crosses
lets boo bowyer, and then he can have an amazing game
oh, and for good measure, lets call cole a rapist, so he can net a 92 goal with his first touch of the game.

    lovely.

Kind of my point Suzi, no point booing players cause they always get us

    Parker - Goal
    Mills - Goal
    Rae - Goal
    Defoe - many goals
    C Cole - Goal

    Anyone see a theme emerging?
  • Dont forget JL.Samuel!
  • So, what your saying suze, is that we lost because we booed some players! (winky thing like)
  • [cite]Posted By: cafcpolo[/cite]Dont forget JL.Samuel!

    oh and him, good spot
  • i know that it normally flies back in our face, but there is something enjoyable and liberating about giving a player the bird.

I've tried, but i just can't stop. Its panto for adults and i love it.

ROnaldo will be getting it big time from me !

no, but its just it always happens. you'd have thought we'd have learnt. how many times have we boo'ed our ex players and its bitten us on the backside. to be honest, it doesn't matter who scores against us, anyone could have scored, the end result is the same

the point dear cafcbabes top boy rothko is trying to make is that we shoudl cheer our own team before we goad the opposition!!!
  • I'll blame you when he cracks one in with 5 minutes to go.

    cheek of it
  • Suze, you failed to spot my winky thing remark!! Twas merely an attempt to get you out of your pram!! One would apologise profusely.

Although i do love booing people, its great fun!

  • i saw it, i just fancied a rant anyway!! :-)
  • Good on ya, ranting is as great as booing IMHO! 2 of my fave pastimes!
  • maybe we should boo our own players. you never know, it might work...
  • I think many of us are not expecting anything from this game. What I really want to see, however, is the team fighting for each other and giving everything they have - along the lines of the 3-3 draw and Robbo's spirit and determination in that game. I am hoping Dowie will be able to instil that back into the team if nothing else. Mind you, I can't really see either Holland or Hughes in the Robbo mould ...
  • exactly my hopes Oscar.

That 3-3 feels a long time ago now, doesn't it ?
  • Yep - I know memories play funny tricks, but the Covered End was rocking and Bartlett was on fire!

Just shows how everything changes eh?

Sometimes I wish we'd never built the new stand!!
  • We certainly lost a lot of the intimacy when the upper tier went on.
  • I still can't see it. Sod Ronaldo as well, game over .. move on

if the reports that Giggs is doubtful as well as Rooney and Scholes out, we won't have a better chance.

And for some reason i always fancy us more for evening games than i do in the afternoon.
