Wigan away moved to Friday 20th Feburary

Charlton's Championship fixture at Wigan Athletic, originally scheduled for Saturday, February 21st, has been brought forward by 24 hours
Olly Groome reports

Charlton's Championship fixture at Wigan Athletic, originally scheduled for Saturday, February 21st, has been brought forward by 24 hours.

The clash at the DW Stadium will now take place on Friday, February 20th (7.45pm) after the Football League granted the Latics permission to move the game to accommodate their Rugby League co-tenants Wigan Warriors who are due to play at home in the World Club Series on the same weekend.

Was planning on going to this.

At least they have gave plenty of time before the game to move it.

    Much better.
  • More will turn up than if it were a tuesday as there will more fans not going into work on the Saturday.
  • Unless it's televised this is bad news, can't get back to London via train, and too late to go straight out after to anywhere decent.

  • Perhaps people will give this a miss and go to Derby on the following Tuesday.

Now had a word with the chaps and its turned into a two nighter.

    Thank you Wigan Athletic.
I have just got back from a cracking weekend in Liverpool. 8 of us stayed at the Hoax hostel, which was perfect. Bang in the centre of Liverpool, walkable from Liverpool Lime and on the doorstep of all the bars!
  • There'll be more comments on this thread than people that would've attended on the Saturday.

Plus you've got the Millwall game the following day ;-)

Get out the ground at say 9:45ish if you're lucky, 2 mile walk to the station, trains to Manchester 45 mins or so?? Be out by midnight.
