really grateful for the sticky on the last one, not sure I got the wording right on the title hopefully better this time, we need approaching 900-1000 ideally
Hi guys, up at a conference yesterday in Manchester on Football, Fiction & Culture there was a really interesting point made - the 3.00 Saturday kick off and the scores coming in from up and down the country is the one thing that really holds together British football in the age of Sky Sports and its TV schedules. I found that really interesting, this idea that it's like the last bit of tradition that is still relatively intact, and it's the one time when you hear of places that never make the news from Arbroath down to Accrington, and then that unimportant little patch of South Bermondsey and places like that. It was a really good day. David Goldblatt was the main speaker. Funny though - so many supporters of the big clubs feel like their clubs are slowly being taken away from the original fan base. Even met a few guys who have just turned away from the whole Premier League thing and started following Dulwich Hamlet. Posted the link to the Trust survey on Twitter.
The atmosphere at yesterday's game in Reading was the best possible advert for going to away games - cracking atmosphere and constant singing/banter. Brilliant. And great result again.
you may be interested to know our biggest survey garnered 2,252 responses - receiving over 1000 entries on one day, it benefitted because it went out via club channels - 1500 fans found out about it that way - as well as our own. It was 'sponsored' by Steve Bradshaw, in an initiative which also saw a one off distribution of TNT via programme sellers.
among other things it allowed us to help Valley Gold by putting 167 interested fans in touch with them, we also identified 897 people who were interested in supporters groups, and divided them by postcode so we could make this information available to the relevant branches. A similar number also became subscribers to the Trust at that point and many converted to members. That and ACV helped build the membership as it is today to over the 1000 mark.
more recently we did a joint survey with the club on match day experience, and that hasn't been published yet mainly due to various staff issues, but we hope to present this to the new caterers soon, and possibly follow up

486..
Cost of travel, ticket prices and time of the game. Most important 3 things for me.
The cost of tickets.
The cost of travel.
The time involved.
The kick off times.
Family life.
Reasons,
I have other interests outside football
The cost of tickets and travel
The time it all takes.

The survey also looked at a number of other things
