Weird gaps in your upbringing

We discovered today that one of my mates has never eaten a pancake. Which got us onto talking about weird gaps I'm our upbringing - another mate had never played monopoly.

Couldn't think if any myself, but maybe there's something I don't realise.

Anyone discovered any weird gaps in your knowledge/life experiences that you've only recently discovered everyone else has done?

Films are a big one to be fair - I've never seen Saving Private Ryan, not out of deliberate choice I just seem to have always missed it. So when people talk about the start I sort of get what they are saying....

Great opening comment. I have never seen Star Wars, nor do I ever want to. You can also add to that list Grease. Watched about a minute of an inbetweeners episode and thought it was toilet.

I hadn't had a curry or Chinese until I was about 19/20. Never really had pizza either growing up, or virtually any 'foreign' like food.

I hadn't fancied it until I was about 15 - assumed it was like Star Trek, which I've always found really boring.

I watched it - it wasn't like Star Trek. It was brilliant.

This is a big one in my opinion. People who have pets especially dogs are a subtly different type of person i have always felt (as a dog person myself).
