always thought he was decent for where we were. Probably got criticised for not being wiggins, but always thought he was a dependable, gary neville style full back, or could develop into one. Didn't like the fact we were intent on criticising a youth product who was thrusted into the first team when we were struggling.
Another player that wasn't rated by Charlton "experts" but moves again to a Championship club.
The big problem with Cafc fans/critic is if our left backs don't play like *Wiggins and Dasilva and bomb forward, complaints are voiced especially with the slower type LB's like Fox and Purrington. They did get forward but took too long to get back !
We know the RB at LB never works other than against poor opposition. I want my LB to go past on the out side not cut in every time.
Morgan Fox has benefited from being a bona fide Left footer which are less than the majority of Right footers and being tall can play LCB.
*Of course a young fit Wiggins type would be my LB of choice !
A young Chris Powell - no other answer is acceptable 😊
Blimey Johnny, you are sitting the bar high. I swear that Chris Powell would've won more caps But Steve McManaman didn't track back in CP last game and he got over ran.
Around 300 Championship appearances suggest he’s a much better footballer than some on here are judges of football.
Definitely not too shabby to make 285 apps in the 2nd tier and 31 in League 1 with possible another 150 in the 3rd tier if fit to his mid 30's. Morgan Fox is the polar opposite type of left back to Rhoys Wiggins. That's how he was judged by many Charlton fans. Wiggins was the artisan whereas Fox looked inelegant in comparison; But this was never going to define either of their careers.
Fox was fairly solid for Charlton if unspectacular and was always fit for selection. Wiggins career was ruined by injuries and he played with this fear all his career after ruptured knee ligaments while on tour in the USA with Palace as a teenager. 124 apps for CAFC over 4 years was his best spell of games. Just 8 apps after leaving CAFC at 28 and quit at 30 years old. Wiggins made 200 apps over 11 years and I loved to watch him play. Fox is a Journeyman defender that championship managers found useful and reliable.

Fox was decent in the air and LCB always looked to be his best position.
We had a flat back 4 at the time.
