  • Strange that season ticket holders and VG members get cheaper tickets. Can't recall seeing that before.

Having looked at the Reading website if you go by train there's a shuttle bus between the station and the ground (too far to walk really) that costs £4 return, for which you need exact change.

I imagine they offer similar discounts to their equivalent schemes. Only a couple of quid but it all helps.

Four of us going so a taxi from the station might be cheaper and quicker

Bromley to Reading in a taxi Henners that'll cost a fortune. :-)
  • Presumably they have negotiated a reciprocal arrangement with us over this discount

No preferential sales? Are they sure we won't sell out?

Cue the CL "£2 off aReading ticket" thread?
  • When is it?
  • Reasonable.

    Hope for a good turnout.

  • Reading is on the Thames but that is one hell of a boat trip
  • If CAFC sell out the original alloction, There are could be approx 1000 more tickets avaliable, the away area holds approx 2400.

  • Getting ours in the morning, Train return was only 17 quid so not a bad overall away day cost.

A bit cheaper than that from Waterloo, if you have a railcard.

Away fans are located in one end of the stadium, in the South Stand, where up to 4,300 can be accommodated (although the normal allocation is 2,100).

£14.50 return from Richmond without any railcard.

  • 1081 sold as of two minutes ago.
  • I have a very outside chance of being able to watch from a box at this one.

Will be good if it happens even if I have to sit on my hands if we do well!
  • Reckon we could get them on the day? Amount sold isn't too far away from the initial allocation...
  • £25 in advance £30 on the day.
  • Have something organised for the kids on Sat afternoon so appreciate I'm coming from the oohaah school of hypocritical slating here, but given the distance this really is one of those games we should be taking 2,000 plus to IMO.

Disappointed it looks like we will be well short of that

I think some are saving money after a Friday night piss up after Fulham and a weekend in Bournemouth.

I am looking forward to it, never been reading.

  • Given its only a 30/35 minute train journey from London its a very poor number. It would probably take most people longer to get to Watford or Tottenham, yet we would sell a lot more for them

Know what you're saying but no way is it quicker for most people, either driving or public transport, to Reading than Watford or Spurs. I went to university in Reading so have done the journey at least a hundred times!
  • A bit of a hike from the station adds to the agg.
  • Maidstone have sold more for Stevenage away in the FA Cup the following afternoon.

Agree. Proper pain in the arse to get to from the station.
  • I'm surprised by the poor turn out to be honest, close game, sat 3 o'clock, prices reasonable etc. Personally i can't wait
  • If you are going by train Paddington is the best bet, England home at rugby makes both inward and outward journey from Waterloo a bit of a mare.
  • With that many sold so far we should be looking at around 1500 on the day, me included so we will make a fair amount of noise to cheer the boys to victory...2 from igor, 1 from wilson...

There's a bus from the station to the ground, £4 return, but yes, it is still an extra bit of hassle compared with grounds which are walkable from the railway station.

I'm going, my first trip to Reading and looking forward to it a lot.

Me too. Hour and forty from Tunbridge Wells every time.
They were at Elm Park then and even that seemed a nightmare to get to.
