You cannot be serious!! It seems he is though.
Tonight's Evening Standard reports that Millwall chief executive Andy Ambler believes Football League clubs should follow the top flight's lead and consider playing fixtures abroad. You might need to read that several times. I did.
"I just wonder if there is an argument to take the Football League around the world ..... it has to be worth exploring." he says.
"At Championship level in particular, I think we need to realise that our product is exceptional", he explained.
AFC Wimbledon v Bury in Shanghai in the middle of March probably is a bit of a stretch, but the Lions versus, say, Huddersfield Town would really pull them in I'm sure.
Give me strength. You really couldn't make it up.
This numpty is now on the Football League board. I'm sure he'll get laughed at when he raises this possibility, but I can't even begin to imagine how anybody could think this makes any sense whatsoever, on any level.

It is everything the Premier League is not.
Do one Spanners.
Kim Little, the Scottish international and ex Arsenal forward would be a great choice as she is the most
gifted female player in Britan and is a blond bombshell as well.
Too good for Millwall thou, she can play along side Igor.
Games between top Premier League teams would get full attendence but this Mr Ambler apparently overestimated overseas interest in the Championship. That said, clubs like ourselves would probably attract a lot more people because we'd been in the Premier League for quite some years and we're well-known among football fans here - not to mention the Zheng Zhi link.
In a word, I'm not sure if it's a good idea to move Premier League abroad but Championship teams playing league fixtures or friendlies outside of England is completely a different thing. Personally I'd be overjoyed if Charlton came to Shanghai but Millwall? No thanks and it wouldn't make any profit as Mr. Ambler expects - a financial loss for them is more likely.
I would love more games abroad. Our trip to Hungary was brilliant. It beats Watford away.
Git! ;o)
