We Could Be Top Tomorrow!

With Forest not playing 'til Wednesday, should we beat Wolves and Watford and Norwich fail to win at Blackpool and Brentford respectively we will indeed be top.

How fantastic will that be!!!

  • We could be, but so could Wolves, Watford or Norwich. Lets think about it when/if it happens.

    Stop it!

Under the radar is what we do best.

This, lets just quitely plod along
  • Lets stay within a point of top right till Bournemouth in May and then take the title.

We go top now and were just gonna become a target for every club to beat the top sidd
  • Just think if we'd held on to those points at brentford and Brighton...

    Fine margins

And had Forest done the same in their matches (i.e. winning v 10men yesterday)... Works both ways ;)
  • I'd like to hit top spot and stay there all season, we can but dream!

Is Bulot in contention for a start / place on the bench yet?

But what if Moussa didnt pop up in the 94th against Wigan? Swings and Roundabouts. I'm happy to plod along in the playoffs, surprising everyone for as long as poss!
  • I reckon Bulot will be involved for Rotherham... Peeters said around Watford that he wouldnt be involved straight away as he needs to get used to the Charlton Way.

Although should Gudmundsson be missing he could be on the bench tomorrow

  • It would mean Blackpool not losing.

    Don't be daft.
  • Supporting Charlton is about "maybes" but mostly about "could of beens"...

Addick Addict you should know better!
  • Mid table obscurity works for me, this season.

Let RD and BB sprinkle their magic dust over the club during the summer, and make a concerted push next season...

Like at the weekend against Wolves, yeah? ;-)
  • Great that people are looking up not down. Staying top six for as long as possible works for me. Staying on course for 75 points will be hard enough. As per the recent quotes, M.Duchatelet will invest in January if we are in with a shout.
Our squad is very thin for a sustained challenge so let's just see how it pans out tomorrow night - we don't yet know whether Bulot or Gudmundsson will play.
The table at the end of the month will tell everyone who the contenders are. I see the bookies odds shifted again after Saturday and we are now 12:1 for relegation!
  • We would have been top at 5pm on Saturday if we had held out at Brighton the previous week.
  • I really dont want to do this, but am i about to pee on all your bonfires.??!!

I am going to The Valley tomorrow night - first time this season.

However, the last time i saw us win at The Valley was April 2013 - 2-1 Wolves, Obika last minute.
I had such a dreadful run last season that i was deliberately staying away for the sake of the team.

Should i stay at home tomorrow??

    Definately!

Yes, me and a mate deliberately started going to the rugby at Blackheath to help out the Addicks. We were poison whenever we turned up. In the process we have gently weaned ourselves off of the Valley. So much so now, that we don't go even occasionally so as not to hex them... Stick to RM's match thread, much safer!

  • Would love us to go top as early as possible. It gives the players added incentive to win games as they don't want to lose their place. Being in "top 6" makes it more comfortable for players when it comes to the odd away game where they want to just nick a point.

Doesn't bother me if being the top side means other clubs want to shoot you down, because being the bottom team means the same thing anyway.
  • My concern is that we will remain unbeaten leading up to the spanners' cup final.

    Yeah, won't happen twice!!
  • Going top would be a massive boost for the players, but at this point id rather ya plod along as someone mentioned, it is the Charlton way after all
  • After Saturday I think Watford will be determined to win comfortably against Blackpool. I can see them knocking up a big score in that one tbh.
  • we're gonna win the league (8)
  • The opening post is like seeing a single magpie whilst travelling to the Valley. Addick Addict you ought to know better!
  • Nah sod the negativity for a change...reckon we should go for it.

Opportunities for seasons like this are few and far between. We've got a serious owner whos tough but extremely ambitious, a hungry manager who knows his onions and has hit the ground running and a young, exciting looking squad that will only be added to.

I've got a bet with a bloke at work that we'll finish top 6 this season and i've seen nothing so far to suggest that will prove a bad choice. If we do go top tomorrow, abet briefly, we'd have earned it no question....and if we're good enough to finish top 6 we're good enough for promotion!

    BELIEVE!! lol

Don't worry this season they will get payback.
