how can they say that already
Keith Peacock confirmed this when I spoke to him last Thursday.
( Before he jumped 6 feet in the air shouting "YESSSSSS!" )
“If you score a goal, you can keep a clean sheet and win the game.” Sherlock Holmes school of coaching.................
Works for me.
It certainly works for me too.
With the huge churn, bewildering at times, that we have been through in 2014 so far, thinking through all the angles is enough to make your head explode.
I have posted before that it is perhaps easier to go back to judging by results than trying to get to grips with the bigger picture. Bob Peeters up to now has performed very much better than I had dared to hope, and he is delivering result after result so far.
So another clean sheet on Tuesday would be very welcome indeed, if we squeeze in a goal to go with it then brilliant. Judging Bob by results is a refreshing place to be for me, it is early days but I am beginning to believe that the whole mindset from the management and the team is accumulating points, and I am all in favour of that.
If we can't win Tuesday Bob...don't lose.
P.S. Bob gets bonus points from me because he is likeable, intelligent and shrewd, and articulate, but his match day dress sense is pretty crap.
I've not looked beyond September fixtures but always thought that having arrived in the top six, if we can stay there then it makes a lot of sense to push on. Our squad is very young and on long contracts - we should be adding to it before our best players attract offers. Based on decisions and announcements to date it looks like the club are saying to Peeters "prove that you and the squad are good and we will back you" If one or two are injured and we are struggling with plan A then we simply don't have quality options. Most games will be a draw or settled by one goal so we need 18 quality players for every game. We have come so, so far in the last six months to make up that 18 and a couple of loans plus a couple of January signings could take us places. To me the bigger picture is that once we become a play-off club (like the three we have beaten so far!) then the club becomes more viable and more valuable... And far more interesting to fans and media alike. Too early to say whether we are just getting lucky but most games I've seen are following a similar pattern. The other team has more possession but we have pace, precision and Vetokele! It's a marathon not a sprint so I really hope they complete out the squad before we drop points due to injuries and/or suspensions.
Yes in regards to this game today that's true. But we relied on them not taking chances as much as great defending and goalkeeping. That's not going to happen every game and this is the first game we've kept a clean sheet for a reason.

Angola lost to the major rivals in their group.
Burkina Faso 0v3
Gabon 0v1
Top 2 in each group go through.
so unlikely but premature to say they are out, especially as Gabon drew in Lesotho.
Angolan Coach needs his head tested as Ve-tekkers-ole isnt being played.
former trialist Florent Rouamba came on for B.Faso with them already 3-0 up

Top 2 and best 3 placed finish, still would be surprised not to see Angola go through
