  • Good interview by Weegie, well done H
  • Very good interview, well worth the read.
  • I agree the interview is excellent and is well worth a read , weegie asked many of the questions I would have liked to.

  • Excellent interview - all credit both to subject and to interviewer. Clearly there was a fine rapport between the two ladies - might it be possible, therefore, to have replays say around New Year and at the season's end ? This club is on the march, and it would be good to see how they follow the club's progress.

Btw, just a personal view : I think of KM as pwopa Charlton in the same way that I think of Shady Lady Brady as pwopa West Ham. Oh, and our Katrien is pure class ....
  • Did people manage to get a copy of TNT in the ground?
  • As others have said, it was a very good interview. Two things stood out for me in it. Firstly, that Katrien is clearly a believer in having fans on the pitch for celebrations, so maybe we'll have none of the 'keep off the grass' nonsense next time we win something ;-) Secondly, it was interesting that she positioned herself in the thrifty budget-keeper role and RD as the one who may on occasion like to splash out a little. I like it this was around - better than having a frustrated CEO and a stingy owner.

In answer to Razil, yes I got two copies at about 2.30 with no problems.
  • Excellent interview Oprah Weegie!
  • No I didn't get a copy
  • I wanted to get one and queued up but some bloke, wearing a white crash hat, was a bit quicker than me and nicked the last two - bleeding typical!

Great to know that people are queuing for Supporters Trust News ! If you didn't get one, PM me your address and we'll try to get one to you before they run out
  • The place to be pre match was obviously Bartrams where our copies were delivered in person by Pico....

I've only just had the opportunity to read Weegie's interview with Katrien & thoroughly enjoyed it. Feel there was good rapport between those ladies and that they were both on the "same side". Another example of the widening of important communication channels between fans & our Club.

    Long may it last.

  • Really good interview that @Weegie Addick‌ well done, really enjoyed reading that.
  • Good interview by Weegie, well done H

    I agree, well done Weegie!

We are always going to have that, as legally we are required to keep off the puitch, the determining factor will be how strictly it is imposed.

Regarding the interview, it is interesting that despite the experience of the last 9 months the objective and, it appears to be the primary objective, continues to be break-even, whilst Premiership is seen as a goal, but not necessarily the top one. If we are a break even club and it does appear that losses are only allowed short term, then expect quite a turnover of players each summer.
  • Thanks, all. I felt privileged that the Trust asked me to do the interview, so there was a little bit of pressure to get it right! And I found Katrien just as charming as you boys do, only maybe not in quite the same way ;-)

I feel confident that our Club is in safe hands for now.

That's good news, as it seemed you felt the opposite, a few months ago.
  • Thanks everyone for your kind comments, especially @AFKABartram - means a lot coming from you :-)

Covered End - yes, indeed, I have been on a bit of a journey as they might say on X-Factor...from inital scepticism over how this network malarkey would work through heartbreak over the departure of SCP to gradually getting my Charlton mojo back. I stopped going for a while - didn't see any of Riga's matches, apart from Brighton away on a dodgy stream. Watched Brentford away online too - first game of this season - and was still feeling quite alienated with so many new players, Wilson and Morro relegated to the bench. Then I made it to the Wigan match and saw Big Bad Bob in action close-up from lower tier of the West Stand, plus liked what I saw of the new squad - and, of course, nothing like an injury-time winner at The Valley to bring all that emotion back again!

Hearing directly what Katrien had to say gave me a lot of reassurance that they do have a plan - not boom and bust, but just a sensible approach. I still have some big questions - as Kap says above, we will have to get used to player turnover and "cashing in", and Roland's model seems very focussed on keeping the manager/ head coach firmly in his place. Or rather the opposite of that - he won't let the manager become too secure in his position, so the days of long tenure such as Curbs are behind us, and who knows how long BBB will stay around? But overall, it's pretty positive and stable both on and off the pitch just now, and there haven't been too many seasons in my 40 or so years supporting the Addicks when I've been able to say that!
  • @razil Didn't pick one up as was on an abortive hunt to find a jackpot ticket seller and forgot to walk round to your stall. Are there any left for tomorrow night or will I have to read it online at work, hovering over ALT+TAB? :-)
  • Should be plenty on the stall tomorrow evening. Please form an orderly queue !
