Pre-match Pub

I know this has probably been a thread before...but just wanted to get a general concencus of what pub everyone goes to before heading to The Valley.

I know about the Oak and the Anchor & Hope. Anywhere else with a good atmosphere to go to before the game? Preferably with BT Sport as I want to watch the Gooners v Citeh game.

    Police won't have it.

    They like the away fans where they can keep tabs on them and march them the short walk to the away end.

    Used to use the bugle regularly and never had a problem.
    Have been driving to games more often than not the last couple of years, so haven't been drinking. On the occasions I have fancied a beer, bugle was still fine, with all the football TV channels.
    Also went in rose of Denmark for the first time before the Wigan game and was fine, again has the football channels.

    Rose of Denmark, encourages a friendly mix of home and away fans. Shame kathy and Dermott don't still run it, but the new management are ok.

    Bugle is ok as a pub but the customers are strange.

    almost like being in Norfolk.

    The Antigallican used to be divided off until about 10 years ago, had a home section on the corner which was completely separate if I remember rightly. The main part of the pub looking onto Charlton Church Lane which was the away bit.

    Re, The Antigallican My Grandfather was Head barman/Manager there and my Grandmother applied for a job as a waitress,which she got and that was how they met.My Mother used to play with the owners Daughter in the rooms upstairs,this was in the late Twenties.I believe the Son had a Train Set which used to cover the whole room upstairs.

    Spot on there. Including one particular angry character who's seemingly spoiling for a fight every Saturday. I steadfastly avoid eye contact.

    Does the Bugle still open the back room for the Big screen footy. Needed a bit of Decor but remember it being spacious. I drink in the Oak.

    I must admit, I don't remember seeing it open recently. I'm sure they've got a big screen in that little inset seating area in front of the bar, though.

    What is the Oak actually like these days? I'm no longer using Crossbars (strangely enough) and it's on my route from my car to the ground. Been in there a couple of times before but not for a while

    The Oak has improved from what it had become in recent years. Still plastic glassess, but better service. Never seen any away fans in there.

    The Lib used to be good but lots of plastics like plaaayer, WSS and their gang ruining it now

    I don't mind them, it's the old fogeys playing cards on the tables that ruin it these days!!

    Oak was 50% at least Derby fans for the last game. Was quite strange as Oak tends to be a pub only home fans frequent.
