94/95 season David was unstoppable at times. Twenty goals (no pens) and plenty of goal of the season contenders amongst them. A wonderful talent. RIP David
I don't want to appear to be taking anything away from David whyte as he was the first goal scorer I've witnessed at the valley but Mark Robson is involved in a large number of those goals.

Brilliant that. That was when Charlton was my life, all I did all week was coundown the hours until football at the weekend.
RIP David. Thanks for the memories.
This. David was part of an era when I had a season ticket and no responsibilities. He was one of the reasons I'd keep making the trip to London from York every other week. He was David Whyte Whyte Whyte.
Cracking stuff. I was at an age where all I did back then was eat, sleep and breath football, so this has really saddened me. There are games in the mid 2000s that I can't remember for the life of me that I went to, yet I can remember vividly all those games as an adolescent around this time. It's bizarre. Be great if anyone can add to this, I know the Watford one (my favourite) is on the other thread.
PS - what about that green and purple Bristol City away kit???? Just as bad as our green and purple third top around 97

David had a fantastic ability to be in the right place at the right time and deliver with devastating accuracy.
His memory will live on for those of us he gave immense pleasure to watching him perform for our club and we will be holding a minutes silence tonight for him at the Trust AGM.
@Darren_whyte our thoughts are with you and yours at this tragic time (I have inboxed you on here by the way).
Darren - as others have said your brother was a proper hero and a joy to watch in a period with little such joy.. and seemed a sound bloke as well. Thoughts are with you and your family.

Really remember that Luton goal that Robson set up as we were down to 10 men for most of the game.
Thank you David for the good memories.
