Apologies if it's already been covered but it would be interesting to know who we were chasing... and what are the possibilities of them signing when the loan window opens next week?

Being that we are told KM and BP keep everything quiet about transfers, the likelyhood of finding out will only happen if we sign either or both, although people will say they are ITK and start putting names on here, unless its someone like Ketts, I will take all with a pinch of salt.

The Premier League can grant extensions, warranted certain criteria are met, but there is no provision in Football League rules to extend the deadline. In any event, we had no agreement in place with the selling clubs, ie the deals had effectively broken down.
I personally think it was almost certainly Andy Delort and Jelle Vossen, both seemed to fit our current signing programme and both signed for clubs in the championship who seemed willing or able to offer more.

Vossen could be one of them but the statement from the club implied that we were trying to close the deal late on deadline day - Delort had already signed for Wigan by then.

But Vossen was confirmed early afternoon I believe so don't think it was either
Comments
1. There were no players
2. The two players were both from Standard but wouldn't come
3. The deal broke down because the other clubs wanted Church as a swap and after his assist v BHA Bob won't let him go
4. Andy Johnson was about to sign but Palace offered him a coaching deal
5. Gus Poyet wouldn't let us a player as he was pissed off over the sale of Diego
Some or all of these might not be true
I don't recall that GJ.
