The New Look Programme

The programme has been revamped and I really like it.
It's "perfect" bound (I think that is what it is called) which makes it easier to read.
The new sections are more clearly defined and have witty names ie the away team section is called the Jimmy Seed Stand.
There seems to be a lot photography and graphics and their use is imaginative.
Of course I'm going to like a section called "the Charlton Museum" but it is more general historical stuff than just CAM.
Not a fan of white text on dark backgrounds but it does stop it being monotone.
I personally would like more from KM and/or RD but there is plenty from other managers and it seems few adverts.
Well done the Comms team.
Now just find Scarfy.

I have so many programmes in my loft it is silly. I used to always buy one, then I used to always buy one but never actually read it, then about 18 months ago I thought (what with a reduced income and all that) if you're not going to read it why buy it.
I bought the 'handbook' one at the first game, and confess to not really having read that either.
I heard that Huddersfield had changed their style this season, and I have thought we ought to too.
What would blow everything apart would be a smaller sized publication both less pages, and about a third the 'footprint' size of the current programme, maybe on 'Private Eye' type paper, that costs no more than £2, and given the new technologies was very current (as in go to press at 11pm on the Friday night), and most especially when you get it you read club related stuff there for the first time...stuff that has not been leaked, or to be found on the internet.
I am sure it could probably happen with effort, but maybe what I would want is impractical, and would not appeal to the wider fanbase.
Going back to why I stopped buying it, apart from cost I felt I already knew what I was going to read before I read it...some stuff is so predictable.0 -
Great improvement0

You actually go there?
Apologies confused it with ITTV0 -
I agree with what much of what Henry has said. I quite like the new layout and design. In particular I am pleased to see the return of "The Bigger Picture" which I always thought was a great feature. I have mixed feelings about the perfect binding though. It certainly doesn't make it easier to read because the pages are always set to spring shut, so you can't just leave it open on a table top like a staple bound programme. Also, it's going to be a bugger if you ever want to photocopy or scan a page of it without breaking the spine. On the plus side it'll be easier to find the one you want if you've got a set of them lined up on a bookshelf. Alternatively if you keep your programmes in a pile, you should be able to build the pile a fair bit taller before it topples over.
One thing that is definately a retrograde step is the new style Fixtures and Results table (pp.58-9). Whoever decided to take the horizontal dividing lines out has made a minor cosmetic improvement at the cost of a major setback to utility. That's gonna be really hard to follow once it gets filled up. Similarly the change away from having home matches in bold makes looking for fixtures more difficult.
On the whole, I'm pretty happy with it though.0 -
Quite like it, but actually felt there were a LOT of adverts...0

If you've lost it they sell plenty outside the ground. They come in red, red and white, white and red, many many Scarfy's.Henry Irving said:Seeing the programme getting some stick on the VOTV thread reminded me.

I agree with Stig, in that I found it hard to find then read the fixtures, would rather they were laid out better.

Think the programme is a lot better than last year, so a big well done to those involved. Still a few tweaks needed but nothing is ever perfect 1st go round1

This year's programme is a decent effort, more content than I recall last year?
It was noticeable looking some away programmes last season, that they seemed to have a lot more content than ours, which has been addressed a bit0
