a decent message but its only what youd expect ..admittedly expectations have been very low of recent
Unfortunately with pass owners you would not expect this message. TJ and MS would not have thought it necessary to inform you, and I can't remember the directors in Murray's day ever telling us anything like this

Actually I did not in fact expect it. Slater and his crew clammed up when it was obvious they were out of money/ideas, even in under Murray we weren't really treated to an insight into his logic beyond saying 'we are very pleased to sign [insert name here.]'
The reassurances that A) they want to improve the squad and they seem to know how to do it properly is very reassuring indeed.
Easy, simple message to one of the key stakeholders (us) in the club. Didn't need to be earth-shattering, just honest and something that builds the trust between the owners/management and the fans.
The best businesses are those that can provide simple guidance to their staff & clients and then continually deliver on their promises. You'll be given leeway for a few mistakes, because you've been seen to be doing the best you can.
In our case, Katrien & the board have learnt from January...brought in visibly better players...given the old ground a very visible spruce up...confirmed they want to improve, but not recklessly and just generally communicated with us as (concerned/interested) adults.
We as a club remain confident that we have a squad that are more than capable of reaching the Premier League at the end of this season
...and Champions League football within 2 years.
I'm happy with the progress and I feel sure we've moved from being a bottom six team to team with a very outside chance of playoffs. If I had to guess I would say 9th or 10th. More importantly for me is that I am also confident that we are going to see some very entertaining games at The Valley win, lose or draw.
Without wishing to kick the hornets nest I can't say with hand on heart that I've been entertained very often at The Valley for some seasons.

Feels good, doesn't it? :-)
