Hearts, moved down from Edinburgh when I was three.
me and my dad are hearts and my mum's family (including 6 brothers, 2 sisters and 30some cousins) are all hibs, I really enjoyed Sunday!
I have always been hearts so if anything charlton are my adopted team, @jackcharlton was the man that took me to the valley as at primary school I was heading towards millwall.
Hi dave
Next month i am off too see hearts v the cowden. Good to cowdenbeath rise so high lol
First ever game Arsenal v Liverpool 1976 at Highbury. Started following them then. Dad must have felt guilty that he didn't take me to my first game so started to take me to Charlton (first game v Sheff Utd in 1977). However, hooked on Arsenal and started to go regularly.
Always had a soft spot for Charlton though and after Arsenal's move to Emirates I got sick of getting fleeced so started to go regularly to Charlton with my boy. Made me realise that I was probably always Charlton deep down (weird how you can support two teams!). This season will probably be the first time in 30 years that I don't go to Arsenal (unless charlton draw them in cup). Despite living in Norwich now, love regularly going to valley and away with my boy who is hooked!
Also look out for Norwich, Wycombe (got married there!), Ashford United (original home town) and Spuds when I am down and want a giggle.
West Ham - took my Aussie wife to their games back in the early 80s (she liked their colours!) and we were living in the West End. I was also part of their West Australian coaching network when they had an arm of their 'Academy' in Perth, so spent a couple of visits to London at the Hammers training ground. Man United - I was born in 1950 so many of my early football days were spent in admiration of their revival post Munich. Dartford - spent some time there as a payer when Dog Holden and Glen Copeland were Managers. I always look for their results/progress. Welling - I have a huge soft spot for them and always catch some of heir games when I am over. I had some mates playing for them during their Butterfly Lane days. Glasgow Rangers - my Mum was a Scot and apparently my Grandfather was part of their Youth development network waaaay back
Started out supporting Charlton and Dartford over 57 years ago, used to walk up to watling street with my father, whilst my brother took by train to Charlton, I was 4 then, carried on like that too I was about 11, then the football trouble started to get bad so for the next 30 odd years followed the mighty darts everywhere, couldn't hack all the aggro at league grounds.
Then my boy became an Arsenal supporter (my dad's and his cousins fault), under immense pressure I took him to two games at Highbury, I absolutely hated it, noticed that Charlton was doing kid for a quid, took him along, both was hooked and been season ticket holders for 17 years. Also for some reason to old to remember why, am a fan of Berwick rangers, always threatened to go but never made it yet, really want to but no bugger will come with me. Also got a soft spot for Spurs and that comes from the great 60's team.
Was an Arsenal supporter as my great grandfather (mum's side) played for Woolwich Arsenal, and my father was brought up in Islington. That was until 12 years ago when my mate brought me along to the valley. Bought a season ticket the next year for me and the wife, and never looked back. Kids have had their own season tickets too since they were about 3!
Still have a soft for Welling, as I used go there a far bit with a few mates from school. It was only about £3 to get in for us. I was even 4th official there once when I used to be a ref. It was nice to be paid to watch a game ;-)
Northampton are my 2nd team some will say that's odd but it's due to a 19 years of being the manager on football manager where I took them to the premiership. Also as I'm from Dartford and I follow Dartford as well
