Oh great, I can just hear it, after they've bagged their winning goal in the 97th minute.
"YOU FILL OOOOP MY SENSES............." Please no!
Didn't realise they had their own words to it........
"You fill up my senses, Like a gallon of Magnet, Like a packet of woodbine, Like a good pinch of snuff, Like a night out in Sheffield, Like a greasy chip butty, Oh Sheffield United, Come thrill me again,
that's one of my favourite football songs, with VFR and birmingham's Keep Roight On...
Used to have a thing about Sheffield United when i was younger. Had met Harry Bassett a few times and he was a top fella, plus they had Tony Agana, an ex-Welling player. But what tipped it for me was the luminous yellow away shirt they had. Absolutely top notch.
Remember there was a series called United that followed them through a season.
like Wigan, which sold out two weeks in advance ??[/quote]
I thought that was a bit of a carve up. Wigan sold out? My dad tried to get a ticket and couldnt. Got a freebie in the end but there must have been 1000 kent school kids. Ok, so it was sold out (even though I could still see about 4/500 empty seats scattered around) but it must have been very cheap (if anything at all) to get all them school kids in on the coaches.
Sheff Utd will be a 'proper' sell out. Wigan was a false one IMHO.
Nothing false about it - all the parties paid full whack for Wigan. We even got an apology from the Guardian for saying it was only £5 when that was the coach price.
