  • In my time watching:

    Powell
    Kinsella
    Kiely
    Jensen
    Mendonca
    Nelson

With honorable mentions for Leaburn and Yann as 'cult heroes'.
  • Clive Mendonca who scored the best every hat trick by a English player at wembley.

What that.......Geoff Hurst.....you mean the man who was credited with 3 goals even thou one did not cross the line, and another should have been disallowed as there were people on the pitch.
  • From the OED, Legend: An unauthentic or non-historical story, esp. one handed down by tradition from early times and popularly regarded as historical. On that Basis:

    Stanley Matthews
    Tony Caig
    Omar Pouso
    Reuben Agboola
    The Vinh Nguyen

    Andy Delort

Better add Tom Hovi to that list.
  • The way a lot of our supporters keep going on about Yann, you would think he was the best player we have ever had and certainly a legend, so why is he not good enough to start for Bournemouth today. Yes a good player, but perhaps not as good as we thought, in a poor team
  • I can't believe Peter Shirtliff isn't mentioned more on peoples lists, He was such a leader for us in the late eighties. His two goals helped us beat Leeds in the play off final at St Andrews, to stay in the top flight whilst at Selhurst.
Best footballing night of my life, and the most hairy afterwards !

    Peter Shirtliff
  • Killer, Peacock, Firmani, Hewie, Bartram.
  • Keith Peacock: 567 apps 24 sub including being the first ever sub used in the football league.

" Peacock your colour blind" from cafc fan

As a young boy, i heard this comment.
so returning home after a home defeat, dad and older brother were having inquest in front of mum.

"Peacock had a poor game today"

"it's not his fault he's colour blind and can't tell one player from another" i chirp.

Dad has belly laugh. brother call me thicko and mum bless her, gives me cuddle and says

"Never mind sam never mind. come and have your tea and watch doctor who."

I have been spaced out ever since.

    To be continued.

I love that story Soapy. Charlton family life encapsulated.
