okay today was a low blow coming how it did. However we are still in the sort of position we'd only have dreamed about when Pards took over. No one said it was going to be easy. No one said we'd be out of the mire and laughing with four games to go. We knew it would be difficult. We must keep the faith. There are still many twists and turns to go in this relegation battle and we have to hold our nerve. It'll be just like us to draw with Sheff utd next Saturday but who's to say the following week we won't win at Ewood whilst Utd lose at home at Watford. There is a long way to go yet. There will yet be a few results to raise eyebrows at, such as our win at Anfield. We just have to keep the faith and trust in Pards. I know I do.

Also think you are doing Reading a dis-service, people expected us to beat them because they are called Reading, but don't disguise the fact they were one of the best teams outside the top 4 to come to the Valley this season.
I'm pig sick we've lost, its made it that little bit harder, but i don't think anyone can accurately say 'we're going down' or 'we're staying up'. Anything can happen still.
In some respects, losing the way we did today could be the best thing to happen to us. Admittedly I would have been much happier to have got a point, but Everton aren't in the European places just on luck are they? I suspect Pards will be saying the following this week
1) We gave a team in the European spots a real run for their money at their own ground today. With the support of the Valley crowd behind us, if we keep that level of performance up there's no reason why we can't beat Sheffield United convincingly, and so go above them, and put further pressure on Fulham
2) Benty's 89th minute goal shows that if we keep making chances, we will score, and nothing's a lost cause until the game is over..
3) Conceding that last minute goal was a real sickener - we need to keep concentrating and competing for the full 97 (or however many it is ) minutes in all our remaining games to make sure that we don't go through that again.
I'd much rather the team learnt lesson 3 today rather than next week where it's likely to be significantly more crucial.
There is nothing to be gained by not getting behind Pards and the team 100%. We also need the players to look at themselves in the mirror and ask "what can I do to be a hero". We need them to step up to the plate and become legends.
JFH, it's your chance to fulfill the expectations we had when you were signed.
Matt H, you have shown again what a model professional you are, lets see you cap that with a goal or two.
ZZ, you can become a legend to billions with goals to keep us up.
Baby Bent, we need you to lead from the front with goals and assists.
Big Bent, lets have 90 minutes a game out of you. Remember Chelsea last season, more of that mate.
Song, show Arsene what his missing, try shooting sometimes, you'll find it can work wonders.
JT, time to repay those who have maintained faith in your ability.
Romm, for fuck sake, give us some more reasons to love your Danishness.
El Kak, time for you to hit the target again with one of your thunderbolts, and remember what planet you are on.
Diawara, you are fanatastic in the air, give us one at the other end.
Maggie, you've got a peach of a left foot, lets see you go for it.
Luke, think of the goal against Watford and give us more of the same.
Ambrose, nothing but your most dangerous offensive form will suffice.
Hughesy, think of that goal against Villa, lets have more of that.
Lisbie, just imagine you are playing Liverpool each game.
Faye, Get your Pompey boots on!
Last but no means least
Scotty, you have been magnificent all season, give us three more performances so that we won't miss you on the last game.
The games can't come quick enough for me, I never doubted that the "run in" would be anything but a roller coasted ride. We are certainly on one now, we need to play our part starting of Saturday. No jitters, no quiet periods, no moaning. We must treat them all as our hero's and big them up throughout the game. I want to see us as passionate as we can be in all the home area's.
COME ON YOU REDS!!
WE ARE STAYING UP!!
great shout, only minor detail is that Sheff Yoo will have a game in hand- However- after a day out of contact and not even being to get a text regarding the score until half an hour after the finish- that has cheered me up
Bring it on!!!!!
They could have some seious goal difference damage after. Pray.....
No, Tues as stated above.
Yes, today was disappointing but getting a point up there would have been a bonus seeing as they are 10-4-3 at Goodison, one of the best home records in the division.
Sheff United will come to us next weekend on the back of at least a 3-0 drubbing at Man United and West Ham will have almost certainly been put out of their misery by Chelsea.
Then, next weekend, if we can beat the Blades by two goals or more and Fulham also lose to Blackburn (a distinct possibility) then we WILL be 5th from bottom and going to a now safe Blackburn with a great shot at three points before the Spurs game at home.

Yesterday yes we did play good football at times but I was very dissapointed that there seemed to be no urgency from the team at times. This can be seen from Everton's corners and crosses, to me it did not look like the players were closing people down 110% at every possible point. Both the goals to me were good finishes from them but absolutely shocking defending. It seems that anyone can run at our defense and we back off and let them through.
Another point was this sort of lazy tactic to getting in the box. In the first half yesterday when Ambrose had various runs no one was in there when he put a ball in.
Yes we must get behind the team and yes we could have only dremt of being in this position. However, with our chances yesterday it is very dissapointing we didnt get anything.
Forget yesterday's pain - we've got another chance to win.
And if you want to lay down and die......then read Ormiston and Canada Addick's post again.
We played reasonably well on Sunday, ok, we lost - but most people on this board and in the Valley would have thought a point from that game the best we could hope for. We could have won, but they had chances too, superbly saved by Carson.
Another thing: If we do go down, we still owe our gratitude to Pardew for the effort and pride he has instilled in this club to keep us fighting to the bitter end. Under Reed, we were practically down..dead...buried. Look at us now, we have a chance, the fans are 100% behind Pardew and the team, and we are playing like the Charlton of 6 years ago. If we do get relegated, I am certain that we will bounce straight back up to where we belong.
COME ON YOU ADDICKS!!!!
Great first post mate.......
There are still loads of people on here who've given up too quickly and too easily.
Don't be one of 'em! ;-)
WE ARE STAYING UP!
