  • Only three games in and our relegation odds have widened to between 7/2 and 6/1. Good work, Bob.

Poor old Blackpool though are now 1/5 at a lot of places.
  • The spanners are now 5/1.
  • We are 20:1 for promotion. I might throw a few quid on or simply enjoy it as the odds come down.

Oh, dont you just love the ignorance, sorry, confidence of pre-season.
Sure I could sit around worrying about how it's all going to go wrong but that's too much fun! You can only get 12:1 now...
And we are moving further away from the bottom three for relegation odds after every game. We all know that the days of finding 66:1 for Vetokele top scorer are long gone!
Still plenty of time for the wheels to fall off but if anyone likes what they see so far and likes a flutter then I suggest they get their bets placed before we play Watford and Wolves.
Worst case scenario is that we get found out by one of the best attacks in the division but that must be already factored in to most bookies thinking we are mid-table on their odds.
Should we take four points of these two games then our odds will change again, perhaps dramatically - I actually fancy our chances vs Wolves as I don't really rate them.
  • Agree, 4 points from the two games is almost expected now. How things change. And the football is good too.
Actually, though, i think we are still (along with Millwall) in the top 10 of teams they think are to be relegated. How little do they know !

  • It is a shame that collectively Charlton fans do not have the spending power and financial clout of George Soros whose betting tactic in the financial markets almost destroyed a sovereign currency and a country with it at the time the Sterling was benchmarked to the Euro. How hilarious it would be to see the horrified look on the face of an egregious weasel of a bookmaker who faced losing everything because he had taken billions of pounds on Charlton at 100 to 1 to achieve promotion ....and we did it!

Remember he has to potentially miss a chunk of the season due to the African Nations Cup in Jan and Feb. It is very unlikely therefore he can be top scorer.

Angola still have to qualify first! And they haven't made the best start, losing to Gabon.
