oh lord, i'd forgotten this charlie drake comedy classic, yessss - thx bangkok!:.)
ok, big gratitude alex wright! the key of awesome is the real new find here for me so far, love hearing about stuff i didn't know as well as the classic reminders...
Say Man - Bo Diddley Don't jump off the roof Dad - Tommy Cooper You Need Feet - Bernard Bresslaw You run your mouth and I'll run my business - Louis Jordan (in fact many of his tracks were risqué and quite funny) Hole in the Ground - Bernard Cribbins
Charles Penrose sang the Laughing Policeman, as I am sure BedsAddick will testify...
king of the cops (parody of king of the road) a hard days night - peter sellers albert & the lion the winkers song - ivor biggun friggin in the riggin - sex pistols
The night John Willie took his Ferret to a do - The Oldham Tinkers Fishermans Friend - Bernard Wrigley Uncle Joes Meaty Mint Balls - Mike Harding Keep your hand on your Ha'penny - The Five Penny Piece Back Buchanan Street - Jacqui and Bridie
I can practically quote every Derek & Clive routine by heart. The one 'song' that you wouldn't want your nan hearing starts, 'My Mum came into my room...' It's very crude but then Dudley Moore barely finishes a line because he keeps collapsing into drunken laughter. In fact, that's often the funniest parts of those albums: Dudley Moore's laughing.
That said, most of the 'routines' just grind to a halt anyway. The only funny last line of any Derek & Clive routine is: 'Is this any way to run a dance hall?'
Got roped into seeing Kevin bloody Wilson at the Orchard last year. Hated every second of it. Couldn't believe how much people were crying with laughter.
Ernie - Benny Hill Right Said Fred - Bernie Cribbins Goodness Gracious Me Peter Sellers & Sophia Loren Don't Jump off the Roof Dad - Tommy Cooper Hole In The Ground - Bernie Cribbins
Horse racing - Derek & Clive Back in the DHSS - Half Man Half Biscuit The Trumpton Riots - Half Man Half Biscuit All I want for christmas is a Dukla Prague away kit - Half Man Half Biscuit The Chicken Song - Spitting Image !
