  • Am I reading that right - 2 players signed & then released......seems odd ??

Also Simeon Jackson let go too..........that went well then !!
  • easy six my son
  • Stefan Maierhofer was on Loan at the toolbox from FC Koln. Contract ended then the Spanners must have signed him.
Fede Bessone was on Loan at the toolbox from Sporting Kansas City. Contract ended then the Spanners must have signed him.
  • I'd be happy with 4 to be honest.

I understand with Maierhofer, he was a free agent and joined Millwall in March till the end of the season,
Ian Holloway wanted to keep him on but Maierhofer said he wanted to play in the Prem and told Holloway that he had contacted a few clubs including Fulham,
But he was never offered something and his agent went back to Holloway who turned him away.

    According to this anyway

  • They'll still manage one shot in a boring 90mins either at the Valley or the Den that bounces off the Referee's arse into the net

Think we might be getting ahead of ourselves a little here. Considering recent years and the untested (albeit exciting) nature of our squad shall we see how the first few games go before talking about how Massive we're gonna be?

I'd settle for not losing to them in either game. It would be a step up.
  • Not sure Simeon Jackson has been released by Millwall.
  • I wouldn't read too much into it yet. Still early days.

Millwall will no doubt sign a couple more in the next few weeks - and then probably sit and wait until the Prem clubs have announced their squads, picking up a couple of decent quality loans.

Like we did last season. It's what many Champs sides have to do.

  • Millwall will be a tight nit squad, Ian Holloway knows the league like no others. Big Bob simply doesn't, playing in it does not warrant a large knowledge, ALOT has changed. On paper we should beat them but the beautiful game isn't played on paper, would be happy to beat them just the once, home or away.

    Unfortunatly...thats true.
  • Before we get carried away, we need to see some evidence. In the short term, that would be one or two psoitive pre-season results. At the moment - we know we have a new manager and signed some players who look decent on you tube- but we don't know whether this will reflect itself in the team. We can't and what evidence we do have, is not encouraging. But that isn't to say we won't have a very good team - but let's see the first bit of evidence before we get ahead of ourselves.

Scratch that. I think you mean lousy .... ?

  • We haven't even scored against them in over 7 and a half hours. Even when we did, their 10 men came back to earn a 4-4 draw and make it feel like another gut wrenching defeat.
    It's in our blood.
  • Remember last season when there was tremendous hand-wringing because Millwall had signed Lee Martin and Nicky Bailey and were definitely going to push for the play-offs and leaves us weeping in their dust? And the actual result was them barely avoiding relegation? Well this feels a bit like the opposite of that. As such I'm not going to say a single word about Millwall's squad for fear that they somehow have a decent season. They're guaranteed at least 4 points off us either way
