So who will start against Brentford?

Well with an influx of exciting new signings how do you think we will line up against Brentford. Maybe something like this (I have not seen any of the new signings. Will be at Welling however)

Pope

Solly Morrison Bikey Wiggins

Moussa Cousins Buyens Gudmundsson

Reza Vetokele

SUBS: New GK? Jackson Gomex Wilson Harriott Piggott TBH

Could be good!

  • Decent team that, give me a creative center mid, a lump upfront and keeper and i'll be over the moon.

Gonna go with the 4-3-3 that Peeters apparently prefers

    Pope
    Solly - Morrison - Bikey - Wiggins
    Cousins - Buyens - Jackson
    Gudmundsson - Vetokele - Harriott

    Subs
Phillips / Goalkeeper... Fox / Gomez... Ben-Haim... Moussa... Wilson... Reza... Church

    Against Colchester...

    Goalkeeper / Phillips
    Wilson - Gomez - Ben-Haim - Fox
    Moussa - Buyens - Jackson - Harriott
    Reza - Church
  • Wilson deserves to retain his place in my opinion.

    Cousins - Buyens - Jackson
    Gudmundsson - Vetokele - Harriott

I'm expecting something like that but with Moussa in for Harriott.
  • What I think Big Bob will do:

    4-3-3

    Pope

    Solly - Morro - Bikey - Wigg

    Jackson - Buyens - Moussa

    Reza - Veto - Gudmun

    Bench

New GK - TBH - Wilson -Cousins - Harriot - New Midfielder - New Striker
  • Says something that all of our starting midfielders from last year could be the backups this year
  • Pope

    Solly Morrison Gomez Fox

    Moussa Cousins Jackson Buyens Gudmundsson

    Vetokele

SUBS: Phillips Wiggins Bikey Harriott Reza New CF
  • One thing you have to agree on is that Bob has a fair few more options than our old mate Chris did at the same time last year.

No wonder he jumped ship, Poyet must have seen the writing on the wall.

This was the lineup vs Bournemouth

Hamer, Solly, Wiggins, Hughes (Green 77), Morrison, Dervite, Pritchard, Gower (Stephens 77), Kermorgant, Sordell (Church 65), Harriott

Subs not used: Evina, Wilson, Cort, Pope

  • Pope
    Solly Morro Bikey Fox
    Wilson Cousins Moussa
    Gudmondsson Veloteke
Reza (if back o/w CH & Igor up top)
  • Out of that squad of 18, unbelievably 11 are no longer at the club.
  • As things stand, I would say the following, though with new signings, this could easily change:

    Pope

    Solly - Morrison - Bikey - Wiggins

    Wilson - Buyens - Cousins

    Jackson - Vetokele - Gudmundsson

    Bench

    Reza - TBH - Harriot - Moussa - Church - PP

It looks like a strong line-up to me, very compact with plenty of options available and lots of young players to bring in slowly throughout the year.

As others have said, it would be good to get one more central midfielder, a goalkeeper, and a striker/winger for depth in the squad.
  • StevieK .......... I'm thinking your starting line up would look better as 4-2-3-1

  • New Goalie

    Solly
    TBH
    Bikey
    Wiggo

    Cousins

    Buyins
    Moussa

    Gudmondsson

    Reza
    Veloteke
  • As said on another thread! I know big bob has it talked about 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 but I'm hoping he adapts to a 4-2-3-1 which becomes a 4-3-3 in attack! So what I'd do is as follows..

    Pope
    Solly Morrisson bikey Wiggins
    Cousins buyens
    Gudmundsson Moussa Harriott
    Vetekole

Phillips Wilson TBH Jackson munns Reza ansah

Would like another winger as well as a creative central midfielder keeper and target man to offer something different off the bench!

Imagine the pace going forward! Would be great to watch! May concede a few but bound to excite!
  • Pope

    Solly Morrison Bikey Wiggins

    Cousins Buyens Jackson

    Gudmondsson Vetokele Moussa
  • I wonder if at any time we'll see Reza used in the same role that Iran got the best out of him?

  • Can't see Wiggins being fit tbh.

I don't think that he will be quite as hyped for Brentford away as he was for Argentina in the World Cup, am not expecting similar performances!
  • Can't see Wiggins being fit tbh.

    Why?
  • New GK

    Solly Morrison Bikey Wiggins

    Cousins Buyens Jackson

    Gudmundsson Moussa

    Vetokele

Pope, Ben Heim, Cousins, Wilson, Harriott, Reza, Church

    He's blind.
  • -------Pope/New GK-----
    Solly--Morro--Bikey----Wiggo
    ------Buyens---Cousins------
    Vetokele----Moussa----Gudmundson
    -------------Reza--------------

Subs: Pope/NewGK Wilson TBH Jackson Church Harriott Fox

That's hard to pick for me, it will change given the season but the squad looks nice and fat with players now, one or two and that's a safe squad
  • pope
    solly morrison bikey wiggins
    cousins jackosn
    moussa
    vetokele reza gudmunson

subs new gk, wilson, ben haim, fox, buyens, harriot, church.

the attack has os much depth. what was our worst position last season is full with international talent. a new goalkeeper and we will do well. we do not need a targetman after all spain won the world cup without one.

JJ and Wilson will do very well to get many starts this season, both been brilliant for us to date. Of the 100 point + mob, only Wiggins and Solly are shoe ins (fingers crossed for the wee mans fitness)
  • As long as their names are on their shirts, I'll leave it to Big Bob to decide.

Jack, Buyens has certainly not come here to sit on the bench!

Exactly what I was thinking, change that with JJ and close
