No its far too early yet and at least another half a dozen championship quality players still required before we can consider consolidating our place in the Championship.
I can't say I'm excited about our chances of promotion, but as always I am looking forward to the new season and the recent transfer activity is making it more interesting as we get nearer
We'll need a few at the back before I'm truly looking forward, but I think we'll at least be able to score more than last year. Hoping for top half, playoffs would be too much I fear but I'd love to be proven wrong!
I don't think we'll go up but I do think we will have a good season I suppose it comes down to who our next few signings will be. Although I didn't think Burnley would go up last season so you never know.
Thing about this league is you don't actually have to be very good to sneak into the play-offs in some seasons. Season before last being a case in point and we weren't far off a late run into 6th spot ourselves. Two or three more decent signings in the right places, a good start to the season persuades Roland to dip into his pocket in Jan and who knows what could happen
Im a lot more optimistic of their still being a CAFC for my youngest boy to support in 10 years than I was 6 months ago, promotion, maybe, not out of the question, but id take us being mid to upper in the Championship for the next 10 years (prob about our true place) if it didn't mean relegation again and possible going bust.
I'm excited that I will see Charlton playing in the Premiership but I am trying to be realistic in that it won't be at next season. I'd like to be able to eat those words should it actually happen.
To my mind if we want the Prem we need to be stable first and I think three or four more years in the Championship at the very least will ensure that. What's vital is that we don't get promoted only to bounce back down the following year.
If RD's plan to have a strong academy feeding in is fully realised this may give us that stability - it will take a while to get the atmosphere and culture focused and consistent and for that to feed into the first team and ultimately the club.
I think we will sign 3-4 more decent players and have an amazing season. Roland wants us in the Premiership .... WE ARE GOING UP !!!!!
The past few seasons have been miserable (excluding the Championship winning season). For the first time in ages, I am excited about the start of the season. I think we will be competitive and challenge in the top half of the table.
I fully believe in the new team being built and have put my money where my mouth is, and backed them to win the league.
Last time I backed Charlton to win the league .... they did !!!!

I'm not though, sorry.
Dont think it is anywhere near likely to happen though.
If we sign another six or seven players and the first few games reveal them to be really good, then I'll join you in your excitement.
With a month still to go, and the players that we've bought in, linked too and the figures rumoured, yes I'm excited about our chances.
Do I think we will actually go up....who knows!!!
I wonder what the average Burnley fan would have answered to their promotion chances the same time last year.
Although I didn't think Burnley would go up last season so you never know.
I am confident that top half but in a more stable way then the late rush of two seasons back will be achieved.
COYR
This season should be one of consolidation and bringing on next batch of younger players.
