Absolutely. Moreover, it must place in serious doubt that he is worth anywhere near what we're rumoured to have paid. Everybody makes mistakes, but this has the hallmarks of a real humdinger. It's very odd.
In some ways it makes it even more encouraging that RD is still prepared to bet serious money on players unproven in the Championship. It suggests that he has a view and a plan and intends to stick with it. Quite impressive in many ways.
