Just realised that both games so far have had players involved with previous at Charlton.

Ivica Olic last night played a trial game at Welling a few years back

Alex Song today for Cameroon now.

Be interesting to see how many WC games have links.

Anyone think of other ex players who are at the World Cup?

    Did Christian Bolanos make the Honduras squad? We tried to get him after he played a friendly for us but it got stuffed by work permits.

    One of the biggest disappointments. Saw him play for Wednesday v Birmingham about two months before we signed him. An absolutely immense player.

    Alexis Sanchez wanted to come to us but Barca offered to pay for a family home for his dad and a salary to his brother. But apparently he always has an earpiece in on match days with Charlton live playing in his ear.

    It's tenuous I know, but Mrs Stig has drawn Benzema as one of her players in a WC Goalscorers competition. She carries her Charlton Red Card everywhere she goes.
