  • It was a shame that Paul Hart left to run the Man City Academy but it is a bonus having my good friend Jose Riga in charge of the Charlton academy to help me.
  • Why are you not wearing your high visibility orange jacket again from yesterday when you are asking me these questions?
  • We're hoping for Sheff Weds away first game of the season to start the season on a high
  • Joe Gomez will be involved with the first team next season
  • Cristiano and Lionel have struggled a bit, but I'm sure they'll build an excellent partnership together.

    HIT CHURCHY! HIT CHURCHY!"

"JONNIE! JONNIE! CAN WE NOT KNOCK IT?!"
    "DO I NOT LIKE THAT"
sorry thats for opening game of season
  • I get half a point for Bobby's Riga mention....
  • All the above said in interview, just watched it.
  • He does look like the bloke who used to run the meat stall at Woolwich Market.

  • Can someone do a summary please?

  • Rumours that I am a tragic Frankenstein monster created by the mad genius Dr Duchatalet are simply not true
  • And there was me thinking all the above comments were the summary of the interview !! all my hopes dashed grrrr
  • Whilst I was at Millwall I dreamed that one day I would manage Charlton by far the best team in South East London
(Do I get my family back now I said that)
  • He'll be OK
  • I like Bob
  • He seems to have more lookalikes than any charlton manager:

    Minty from eastenders
Bloke who ran meat stall at Woolwich market
    Karl pilkington

    Any more?
  • He's like Iain Dowie's slightly more attractive cousin

  • Charlton Academy Football Club
  • The problems are psychological for sure.

    Charlton Academy Football Club

Imagine being pissed off that we're using academy players
  • Only just seen the interview. What's all this about Bob being a funny guy I didn't laugh once?
  • I think the most spoken word was 'academy', certainly it loomed very large during the interview.
I also expect we will sign some 'good' strikers, and at least one wide player.
The interview was predictable but interesting none the less, certainly English won't be a problem for Bob (he even used the too much neglected word 'fortnight'). He tells us he is a stand on the touchline guy so his sartorial effort will be open to analysis, and whether he has Pardewesque tendencies.

most flemish people speak better english than half of the uk ;)

is there any way to watch the full interview without registering to that cafc player thing?
  • byl mate, there might be a way but I don't know how to do it. I hope someone might be able to crowbar it into the open for everybody to see, mind you it isn't all that exciting, the proof of the pudding will remain the results on the pitch I reckon.
Bob went on about the academy a lot, and how in Belgium he brought lots of young players through to the first division. Personally I hope his number one priority is winning games though.

That's because a fair proportion of the UK can't speak English :-)

Simon Church took his 35th goal of the season so well. I can't wait to see what he can do in the remaining 40 games.
