  • Makes about as much sense as Palace having a rivalry with Brighton

This is a big surprise considering we’ve been in partnership with the university for a number of years. Obviously they won’t turn down the chance of further sponsorship/funding and brand exposure but that mob aren’t even in the borough. Just bemusing! They are about 10 years behind us.

Kick 'em out of the old Naval College and find some grey old office building in East Croydon!
  • They've been given a porta cabin with cold running water.

Ranked 117th out of 120 in the guardian's annual university guide. It would probably be better off relocating to Norwood tbf.

It won’t last, but I won’t want them back. Shame because I liked UoG on our shirts

Slightly insulting, they should be partnering with Croydon College or whatever dump near them
crazy that UoG have partnered with CPFC - having been so engrained in both CAFC and CACT work the last few years!
Why surprised, they now get a degree of Premiership promotion of the University.
for all the talk of 'working with local communities' and the work Charlton do with their students - they now partnered and seemingly placed higher precedence on a club that is almost an hour away - rather than one that is 15mins!

Club have worked with UoG on many schemes and projects, even working with them on training ground/UoG land usage at sparrows.

UoG will now effectively be directing students OUTSIDE the borough, rather than 'just down the road' to The Valley
It will likely help improve their  ability to recruit overseas students, the government reduce the number of student visas.

We’re thrilled to welcome the University of Greenwich to the Crystal Palace family.”

    Pass the sick bowl
  • Cut ties with them. Whores.

  • Let's face it. Charlton are not really wanted in Greenwich, by the council, university or a large number of the residents.
The council would like nothing more than for Charlton to move out so they can knock down the Valley, build more houses/flats to get more council tax payments and gain more revenue by charging residents to park outside their property.

They can have the 20th floor of the NLA Tower (the 50p building in the middle of the roundabout opposite E Croydon station).

Why would you partner yourself with a team outside your Borough ??  Whatever next.....Cambridge Uni partnering with Newcastle because they won a Cup last season ???

Do we still have any kind of tie / connection with University of Greenwich? I’m assuming there’s something still as it’s on the back of our new away kit we’ll be playing in tomorrow.

A repeat of the time we were all suggested to remove Llanera from our shirts was it that time?

Why do Palace want to partner with UofG
Why would Greenwich decide that’s a good idea.

Hope we cut all ties with them. No benefits, sponsors etc.

    Dickheads.
  • Hope we bin them and find a different university. A seriously tone deaf thing for a group of apparent intellects to do.

I'm somewhat conflicted, as Palace are my second team & Millwall my third.

Not sure what to think really.     But hope it all works out for everyone involved.
