I was amused by Derek McGovern’s column in today’s Daily Mirror.
Helena Costa has become the first woman in Europe (save for Cherie Lunghi in the 80s) to be appointed as a manager to a professional men’s football team. She take’s charge of Clermont Foot in the French Ligue 2.
Apparently she has been told that there is money to spend and she has already identified three targets - Jimmy Choo, Jean Paul Gaultier and Louis Vuitton.
I know - it‘s sexist - made me chuckle though.
Incidentally Hills quote 10-1 for a female manager in the football league by 2020 and 250-1 in the premier league.
Helena Costa has an impressive CV and has been associated with some big clubs - including Celtic and Benfica - maybe it's worth a punt at the bookies?
