A signed United States Football Association menu for a dinner in honour of Charlton Athletic 30th May 1937, signed to the front cover and the interior by the Charlton Athletic touring team of USA & Canada and officers of the U.S.F.A., Bartram, Turner, Welsh, Seed etc.; sold together with an unsigned Canadian Pacific Farewell Dinner menu for the tour, dated 8th July 1937 (2) Estimate: £250 - £350
Would love to have that in the museum but if the last auction is anything to go by the actual price will far exceed the estimate so out of the museum's budget.
With luck it will go to a Charlton fan and we know where it is for the virtual museum

Why is it (and other things like it), worth so much ?
I don't really get it
Speaking as a bit of a hoarder, I'd love to have them. They're fairly unique and part of our history.
My wife on the other hand is always asking me why I don't sell some of my stuff, she just can't see the attraction.
In those days there was not so much 'memorabilia' available as it was not mass produced, so not much pops up from that era.
All in all a very nice item which would grace any collection.
But I do take the point you are either a collector or you don't get it.
