    Anyone see the footage on SSN with that fella being whacked with a baton by three of the plod, and so whacks one back. He'll more than likely get done for assaulting a police officer.

    I know he shouldn't have put himself in that situation to be hit by batons but if you had three geezers hitting you with batons, what would you do?

    Grimsby and Tranmere. Two teams who we played in the 1999/2000 season in our Championship title winning year. Ok Division 1 as it was at the time) (the 2nd tier) Two teams next season in the Conference. (The 5th tier).

    Don't like the idea of penalties to decide the fate of a team in a play off final.
    If the score is tied after extra time then the team who finished higher should be promoted.

    A win in a penalty shootout at least would be earned. Giving the higher team in the table the promotion spot just seems unethical. Penalties add extra excitement in my opinion

    As cafctom says, what a magnificent attendance.

    It underscores the one really great and unique thing about English football - the strength of our nationwide football pyramid. Scudamore and Dyke take note.

    Good luck to Grimsby next season - they punched well above their weight for many years in the second tier and I will always have time for a team who provided us with Clive Mendonca.

    Agreed, no country in the world can compete with England when it comes to lower league depth and support. A fifth division side in England would be able to match a lower second division side in the likes of Holland, France or Italy.

    So the mayor City in the west country is on the way back.

    I've always enjoyed seeing a strong pair of Bristols.
    Can Rovers emulate City in the next two seasons ?
    They both have great support,and not just in the cups.
    It up to Rovers now to attain the same status as City;
    Try to keep abreast with the red side,
    Don't get deflated, and keep your chin up.

    Great season for City and Rovers.

    A bit of a soft spot for both teams...Grimsby/Mendonca and the 5-5 draw with Rovers. Also met some Rovers 'boys' at Birmingham New Street (think we were playing West Brom) anyway I was with my wife and a couple of good mates drinking in the bar when one of their lads came upto us...introduced himself and politely told us that it might be a good idea to drink up and leave, the reason being that in 20 mins or so they were having a 'meet up' with some Cardiff lads...needless to say we took his advicwe and headed off for a few pints in the town centre before heading home.

    Have you watched much Ligue 2 or Serie B this season? To insist that the likes of Braintree and Altrincham could walk all over Brescia, Modena, Ajaccio, Valenciennes, Den Bosch etc is incredibly insular and arrogant.

    Having lived in the South West for 2 years now I think a lot of it has to do with there being no real "big" clubs around there

    Living in Bristol, this was great news, City back in Championship (easy away), Rovers back in league, Bristol Rugby in playoffs too. Plus Swindon in play-off final could mean another easy away game.

    Pleased for Bristol, especially after smashing alfreton on the last day of the season, ensuring Welling stayed up.
