Doncaster Rovers have far more class than Birmingham City in my eyes. I feel for them, but our abandoned match is not the reason. Mind you, the abandoned match will live long in the memory as the half of two halves, they were down to 10 and defending the undefendable goalmouth in the second half, no guarantee of a win at all.
When we won 1-0 up at Brum early in the season I thought they were absolutely dire and on that performance were nailed on to go down. Despite a mini revival they nearly proved me right with their end of season slump yet somehow they escaped late on today. Along with the Spanners results of late has taken the gloss off today a little bit. But hey who gives a f...k, we're Charlton Athletic and we're staying up :-)
To be fair - one half of the pitch was much harder to defend than the other and we were going to attack it second half. We don't know what would have happened but they were down to 10 men and had that issue to contend with. I think the pitch was pretty unplayable and it was the right decision to postpone.
Chin up Donny. I'll still come to visit you every week (can't help it i work there). You're an honest bunch and have a good owner with passion that will see you through the tough times. Some luck next season may see you gain promotion. Good Luck.
RIP to the poor Donny fan that died in the stands, I'm sure they are more saddened by that at the moment than the relegation, puts things into perspective, thoughts are with the family.
My initials when they appointed Dickov was tosser of a player/manager, like seeing him get beat. However, changed my opinion after the re-arranged home clash. He came out and said the original fixture didn't matter and that we were the better team and deserved to win. Fair play to his reaction because I always associated as a player who couldn't help but get involved. He was the type of player like Robbie Savage who you knew would use gamesmanship throughout the match, and I thought he'd be like that as a manager. But he took the defeat to us in good dignity.
A month or so ago, there was a bit of a gap to Brum, Donny and Blackpool. But whilst we were looking below us, it invariably happens that one of these clubs get reeled in. This season all three got reeled in! It is also usual for the club that gets reeled in to go. One of them has gone, and I think the wrong one - but that is football - over 46 games they were the third worst in the league results wise! The are a good club and I'm sure they will be back. R.I.P. the fan - very sad.

You are where you are after a season not 1 game

Let's hope Brum go into admin & start next season on -10 :-)
Would have preferred Birmingham to be relegated and their fans must look back at our game as a huge 'if only', as we all would.
Should we compound it by nicking Sharp off them or is he a busted flush now?
