Name the players

Part quiz, part helping out the museum.

We've been given this shirt by Bernard Wickham's family for which we are very grateful.

Not many places you'd see Alan Curbishley, Hans Jeppson and Andy Jones together.

But we need to work out all the names.

Any help gratefully receivedimage

Martin Robinson bottom right. Looks like just above Bill Robinson. What year is the shirt from? Wiki says Bill died in 1992.
  • Could be. Don't have a date for it and the sigs may not have all been signed at the same time.
  • Mike Bailey below Brian Kinsey?

Don McAllister just below left of the badge.

A nice big Theo Foley mid right.

John Humphrey directly below the badge?

Can't see Tom Hovi on there....
  • I thought I saw Corry Gibbs signature on there,...............
  • Steve Gritt
    Leroy Ambrose

Garry Poole Graham Tutt both clearly visible John Dunn there too.
  • Dennis Edwards at the bottom, Ray Treacy top right, Colin Clarke left, Leroy Ambrose left, Roy Matthews centre, Paul Gilchrist centre top, Cyril Hammond top right, G. Poole right, is that Eddie Firmani above sponsor? Is that a few more for you

  • Freddie Lucas in the bottom RH corner
  • Eddie Youds is bottom, centre left.
  • Bit of a long shot....David Whyte adjacent right armpit?

Lawrie Madden just above Fred Lucas bottom right.

Roy Matthews and Mark Robson just under Theo Foley...right hand side.

Who is the Keith T....bottom left?
  • Keith Tucker, bottom left

Pete Godfrey, right armpit(not a comment)
  • Mike Kelly above Gary Poole, right of G
  • cheers guys,

Will try to map all these out when I get the chance.
  • Keith Tucker, bottom left

Blimey....no wonder I hadn't heard of him....the great God Wiki says 3 apps between 1954 and 1961. Is that right?
  • Les Fell, to the left of Roy Matthews
  • I'm pretty sure the indescribable scribble very near the bottom centre (next to Eddie Youds? ) is Derek Hales. Looks very similar to an "autograph" he made on my shirt a couple of months ago.

    I could be wrong though.

  • Showing my age but saw Eddie Marsh, Albert Uytenbogardt,Ray Treacy, Dennis Edwards,Lawrie Madden and Les Fell on there. Happy days.
  • Zoomed in on PhotoShop and went for the more obscure ones... they are half-guesses for the most part. Might help spur someone who can correct them though.

    Freddie something
    D R Freeman
    Dennis Edwards
    Keith Thunder (!)
    Garry Lile
    Bill Kuauauauaian
    Dudley Davies
    Roy Matthews
    Cyril Hammond
    Paul Gilchrist
  • "Bill Kuauauauaian"

    Could that be Billy Kiernan?
  • John Salako to the right of the badge?

that famous Charlton midfield duo of Bill Kuauauauaian and Dudley Davies, we really set the 60s alight.
  • Harry Gregory, left of Ray Treacy
  • Mark Penfol is down twice, once as M Penfold and again as Mark Penfold, but as he was twice the player of most of the players since then i think he can be forgiven.

Garry Nelson near to the bottom left of the shirt to the left of the sig that looks like R.L. B.....
  • Eddie Marsh, just above Lawrie Madden, towards bottom right of centre
  • Under the word "Resource" is a very curly signature, the one between that and Steve Gritt is Robert Lee.
