I think all fans can be a bit classless. We might be excused given the opponents, but we could be accused of it when we sent Palace down a few years back. When we won promotion, I felt an affinity with teh teams that we had been battling against all season and had come up with us. It sort of felt as if we were defending League One and I wanted them all to stay up and was pleased when they did. I think they looked at us more with envy though, which is a bit strange as we are Charlton Athletic, not Man Utd or Arsenal. They were bitter that we did a job on them when we won 1-0 and projected that through all of our games, when a team that exceeds 100 points is clearly head and shoulders above the rest in that league.
Interesting to see that Leicester can exceed 100 points this season. A great achievement in what is a tough Championship, if they manage it.
Maybe it is just bad luck but having attended 3 games away to Wednesday and 2 away to United, the United fans do seem a much nicer bunch.
I will never forget the weird response and abuse i got for my crime of walking back to my car after we won there in the League 1 season, all from middle aged men one holding his young sons hand, doing his part to create the next generation of football idiots, capped off nicely just as i was getting in to my car by 3 more middle aged Wednesday fans asking "hope you and your N word manager are happy with stealing that then".
Im sure they have plenty of decent fans but on all my trips to Sheffield in the last 8 years i have yet to meet any of them.
Add to it this delusion they have of being a "big" club due seemingly to having won a few things a long time ago and other teams playing big games in their ground, it does become very easy to dislike them.
1.) Their sheer arrogance at taking first place ahead of us 2.) Their reaction to beating us in the Quarter Finals 3.) They're soft Southerners 4.) They're a nothing team that have banged on about how much better they are than us.
Hope we smash the Cockney bellends 8-0. Especially after all the aggro they gave after the Quarters at Hillsborough when leaving the grounds.
Like Barnsley, I hope they rot in League 1.
Erm their sheer arrogance that the Wendies think they should have been in first place ahead of us (i.e. Gary Madine's tweet after we won the League) and erm... It was the 5th Round it were your better rivals that we had in the Quarter-Finals
Then you've got... Charlton have the worst defensive pairing in the league (Morrison & Wood)
And yet we've conceded less goals this season than the Wendies lol!
It has all the makings of an interesting rivalry next season given we won't play Palace and hopefully Millwall. We came up with them and Huddersfield and we are all in it together but if we can finish above them again then that will be so, so funny.
The thing is, we know we have a small travelling group. And we know our place (for the most part) which is why their vitriol is all the more bemusing. And as for "all clubs have classless fans" that's true, but to a man they all seem to hate us. Even the more articulate of the board come up with some drivel.
The only thing that bothered me are the little faces they post. They seem to think they're really funny.

they don't seem to understand they are where they are on merit, just like we're near the bottom on merit, we've been shocking for long periods this season and deserve to be fighting it out for relegation, but they seem to think they have a god given right to be successful.

Do they post the face of Sid James as supposed to be the archetypical Londoner/Cockney/Sadsoftsothernget? If it is supposed to be their equivalent of a flat cap whippet lover stereotype they have it sadly wrong, because Sid James was a South African.

Nasty fans.
Wednesday are the Palace of the North.

How many trips to Yorkshire have we had this season?
Wednesday twice, Sheff United, Leeds, Barnsley, huddersfield 3 times
Sheff Wed - internet rivals
Modern football.
Reasons why I hate Charlton:
1.) Their sheer arrogance at taking first place ahead of us
2.) Their reaction to beating us in the Quarter Finals
3.) They're soft Southerners

Also, Cockneys?!
South East Londoners, thank you very much

Geography is not their strong point otherwise they would not have wound up living in the khasi of England. Bollocks to them.

Enough already with the, "it's grim up north" bollocks.
